I haven't mixed these with cubes yet, but I like the idea. Currently I got a tub with transkei cubes pinning, so I might give it a try soon.
Me too, had one much like that come up in a quick second flush from MS on iffy coir so that was all she wrote.
I'm working on taking it through some generations to see if it stabilizes cause it's just so pretty. Dunno about the potency yet I kept the original single flush too long in the fridge and had to compost it, but I've got plenty clone myc for a second attempt.
Have gen 1 from a sparse print off the big one ready for grain though.

These first two are the same, theres one spot that looks a little tomentose
This one I did a few transfers and dropped a fat wedge to grain

Looking good.
A wedge of that size will take some time to colonise a grain jar though. I would have let it grow out more and used close to a quarter of the plate.

So i feel that my nat tub will be ready to harvest in a week or so. My question is about the overlay. I plan on harvesting that too but is that done after every flush or is overlay harvested once flushes are done?

I would only harvest the overlay when you are done with the tub. Nats seem to be less consistent for me when it comes to second and third flushes vs cubes, so I generally only go for one flush on a nat tub and I pull out the overlay and the fruits.

I agree with Wall.E. Had a tub like that myself though and didn’t end too well. Started getting big metabolite like growths and had to throw it. Think the culture was infected though.
On my second try with a different isolate and so far 12 days in. Just to confuse things though, here’s a pic at day 6 just because I’m not home at the minute.

So my nat tub is technically bacterial or what you think is goin on by the looks of it? Are those porous blobs that are slightly darker than the white fluffy clouds the issue? Are those metabolite growths or are you saying that because of the yellow ooze type shit. This shit is crazy and just like everyone else just trying to figure out what its suppose to look like.

No it's normal looking for some strains of Nats. Even my happy flushers (center pic VVV) had metabolites before they put out fruits.

It was fuckin horrendous! No idea what that black shit was.
This is my second try, taken a few minutes ago, 13 days in. Few metabolites but I’m feeling a bit better about it!

That’s an interesting type of myc. I don’t think I’ve seen surface growth like that before.

Ok i see what you mean now. Those little sponge looking deals are metabolite growth it appears. I look at it everyday at least twice so ill keep an eye on it. You ever get fruits from that tub or no?
