Lol yeah I’ve definitely had some bad ones. I was also doing a lot sub flipping at first.

About this time last year I did a side by side with two clones that got really gross, like submerged in metabolite. It turned out that gnats had been burrowing into the overlay and living there though

It's a good feeling that I am not alone with this, lol
Did the sub flipping help though? I haven't tried this yet, but you are the second person telling me about this.

Hi brother, there was a problem with my mailbox-someone hacked it, the admin blocked my account. Well, it's okay-all the data, history and photos have been preserved....we are working further under a new nickname.

Ehh I'm not sure about that. My first three trays overlaid then produced like three pins before eventually drying out or molding.
Even good cultures seem to take at least twice as long as cubensis, and very little reliability.
These have too many question marks for a "noob species" IME. Not like cubes where if it looks weird it's probably fucked.
My culture out performs GT and other cubes at this stage, only Cambodian is faster.
2nd flush coming in on quite a few tubs.

Sorry for the constant updates, I’m obviously very excited by how fast these snakes are growing. I want to let a few caps open to take prints, and grab a clone, but the side pins are getting gnarly. Probably end up taking down most this flush tonight

They're not ready, Nats grow a lot once the cap is open.
Some of my Nats have not been dropping much spores(well compared to the sporesplotion) not green either.

Will all the side pins rot being trapped between the liner? My cubensis tubs with liners never make side pins, so I’m unsure how to proceed. I will let them ride though. Thanks for the tip.

Looking healthy af Derrayld! How long have you been waiting between flushes?
I've got a got a second tub rolling now, but my first tub was pretty wild- there was zero down time between flushes- they just kept coming. Ended up going 3rd flush because of it.
Also never seen such suspect spawn just absolutley crush a sub and stay healthy af. These Nats sure are something else

Have not had the chance to sample it yet unfortunately. I will definitely report back when I do or when a friend tells me that they tried them.

I love the myc fireworks on the sides.
Definitely give them some time, I’ve had some mature around that size but more often they close to double in height like derrayled said. The ones like those that shred themselves have always been really good too.
Sidepins will be ok.
Usually when I flipped the sub it was because there were pins on the bottom and nothing on the top. That type of culture was super slow too. I think a lot of it was some kind of contam though.

I’m very excited to try them. I will wait it out. I really want some prints. The mycelium almost looks like it was eating through the liner all over. Wild stuff.

It would be gnarly if someone were to isolate a super-overlay variety, almost like a giant puffball. I saw a vid of a company that makes myco-bacon and that's what they do, they grow a giant loaf of fluffy mycelium. Reminded me of the nats.
