No I did sawdust but lost them to mold. All I’ve got going now is a germ plate tub and then the two shoeboxes from different types of myc.
Cameras got sand running but sounds like somethings off with them as of the other day.

Still picking off my mono, mine turn blue when they mature, or seems too. Don't look at the trich though

I’m hoping my fluffy myc shoebox looks like that crack. I haven’t had one surface pin yet.
Looks like clones are crucial to decent tubs until we figure out how to run these.

Found a surprise in my garden tonight. This old sub has probably been in there 3 weeks with no attention.

What a difference. Maybe I’ll throw these in the pan fc while it’s running.

One fruit from the second flush/extended first flush looks tamp like, might clone it.

Looks awesome crack. I gotta be honest, I haven't done anything in weeks. It's to damn hot here. I still got that plate of Nat and the transfers, but I think I'm gonna run it out and shut everything else down till fall.

I harvested a handful off my sweater box today.
My shoeboxes are three weeks now with no sign of knots or pins. The rhizo one is totally overgrown, I’ve been peeling myc off a little bit lately.
Here’s the fluffy one.

The surface looks good but useless if it’s not gonna pin

My mono, sweater boxes, and next round of 10 qt spawn have all kinds of fuckery going on. They're all from the same spawn I expanded a few times but did well with early on. I dont think ill spawn those jars as my wife is giving me shit to downsize a bit so if its not likely to produce I dont need the extra tubs sitting around for 2 months.
The new round of spawn I started over with from MS was slow getting started but its looking pretty decent.

I can say that when I flipped my Subs before pins had formed on the top sides or bottom overlay just seem to continue on the flipped side that was exposed to FAE.
I wish I could say I figured it out I've tried lots of different things but I can't get consistency in different techniques. My latest theory is work with a culture that fruits well but in my experience it may change its fruitabilty relatively quickly.

I think I've pulled about a pound dry out of these which is cool since I'm running oats which costs pennies but the yield has been low for a while. If i can't figure it out what they need soon l I may have to take a break and work on other projects for a bit.

It’s weird how the rhizo just blows up once fruiting starts. Like it grows normal and stays that way until full colonization and then all of sudden gets 20x bigger.
I think it could be reacting to stuff also. My cultures in the shoeboxes are doing the opposite on plates. The rhizo tub is overgrown but looks normal on agar, the fluffy myc surface looks decent but the plate is blowing up to the lid now with the yellow drops.
There has to be something missing from the sub like sawdust unless it’s over nutrition. Maybe way less spawn would help? I know pans use like a quarter the spawn of cubes and don’t grow right otherwise.
And I’m still thinking air could have something to do with it since it was found at pretty high elevation.
It’s super annoying lol. I’m about to put a shoebox in the fridge and see if that helps cuz somethings up when I’m looking at a month with no pins.

I just spawned a couple of different clones. I think they may be like pans in that you need to find a culture that doesn't overlay.
The boxes from my last run that didn't fluff up produced skinny pan like fruit, but the one box that did fluff up produced sparse, but very large thick meaty fruits.
I cloned one of each type. The type with the large fruit I cloned (from the fluffy box), one of the old overgrown plates had its entire volume filled with fluff. Was crazy looking. It looks like I'll be dealing with fluff again with the boxes I spawn from these.

My fluffy myc shoebox has a few pins starting...on the bottom.
What’s weird is the fluffy one hasn’t broken through the liner at all while the rhizo has in a ton of places and continues to spread on the outside. I wonder if that’s got anything to do with the lack of pins on that tub, still spreading out.

Hey everyone
got spawn colonizing with natalensis just great
will get DNA sequenced after i grow it out. or supposedly Alan will i mean.
and also attempting to cross it with cubensis varieties (APE, RustyWhyte and Jedi Mind Fuck). However to be clear: fail or success of that doesn't tell us whether its a separate species or not. but it's one piece of the puzzle perhaps. Plus there is the chance that I am an idiot and messed it up xD .
I don't have very high hopes, it does seem like it went its own way in evolution.
Trying to find more proper microscopic descriptions of cubensis to compare the cystidia (and maybe technically basidia) with natalensis.. cause i think that's actually one of the main things that is supposed to say if it was right to call it a new species or not. At least as I understand it.

Cube's can only mate with cubes. If you did get a cross it would have to be a cube. BUT.... Cloning this tonight. Only a few of my fruits come out with this look. Clone it and pop it
