Im curious if the slow growth also makes them more potent. In theory it should.

Why? Just because of the PE phenomenon?

Not just because of that, but generally mushrooms grown in colder environment are more potent. It's true for Cubes, so it's probably true for many other species as well.

These are definitely not grown in a colder environment if you're referring to my slow growing nat tub? I am currently growing in 30-35°C temps, the slow growing nat is definitely more potent from my experience, it's more an interesting observation from my side that higher temperatures haven't sped anything up with this nat culture I run.

I didn't say they were growing in colder enviro, just saying that slower-growing phenos tend to be more potent. Thanks for confirmation, mate!

Agreed, slower equals higher potency from my experience.

Craziest malformation I've seen with these so far lol
little shroom growing out of an upside-down cap growing on top of the cap of a normal shroom.
This culture was a clone so I don't think the malformation is genetic in nature, would this be correct? If not, I'm definitely swabbing all three fruits and also trying to clone them.

Looks like the standard mutations you get from oversupplementation in species like shiitake and even cube strains like B+ and others.
So in the shiitake case when I've seen that, it was an isolated culture, so cloning a fruit wouldn't have done anything, the mutations wasn't genetic.
Can't guarantee that's what's going on there though. But I bet if you cloned that, you couldn't reproduce it and grow a tub of them.

Hindsight said: This species is definitely the most varied and weird that I have grown. Love what happened with this box:

how much light are they getting? mine is producing so much spores, I can't let it go for that long after cap opens.
But at the same time, my stipes are more of a "normal" look, not all stringy.
It was in a stacked tub somewhere in the middle so not tons of light, but my only hesitation to think it’s light is that I have new and old tubs above and below it that made normal looking Nats - I think most of the reason for the color is that I just forgot about this one and let it go too long. The first flush was light but not that light.

Looove Land Trout's saguaros and AKAs chubbs.
Just spawned one of my best cultures to a 50qt to see what it does. Rye jars finished in ~6 days, though I did noc super heavy with LC.

My spore germ plate is growing good, I have some LC ready to go.. the growth on the plate looks clean to me, is it a bad idea to do a josex poke from the germ plate or should I be patient and do some transfers?

Some photos of my second batch of the 3rd flush....I guess it's technically 4th flush?
They are getting fatter, not sure if it's the "later flush" phenomenon, or change in environment. I dialed down misting, and gave it more air.
I looked up weather pattern in Natal South Africa, seems like their average RH is in the 80% range, and sometime can dip to high 60s%, made me wonder if they will do better with slightly lower temp, and cut down on the overlay issue?
This one just decided to stop growing and turned blue:

There are veils on these Nats, they just like to break at random time, some time so early in the growing process, where it continues to grow 5x the height after it breaks:

Very nice color on those, different to the pale, silvery Nats.
