That’s a very dark cap for natal.
If it wasn’t for the big myc poof I’d be pretty sure it wasn’t natal, was the myc super aggressive?

It’s ms.. yeah, if it wasn’t for that crazy aggressive myc, I don’t think it would’ve finished colonizing.. took like 2 months lol. That myc cleaned up and filled in the cake where other myc had stalled. I just need that pin to print to a jar and I can play with em extensively

Those are great.
So weird how the two most common results seem to be wild overlay with a handful of gnarly fruits or just totally packed wall to wall.

Just a wild idea - given how aggressive nats are and how resistant they are to rivaling contaminants, if you mixed agar colonized by natals with grains fully colonized by cubes and then spawned them into bulk, could the nats take advantage of the antibacterial properties of cube mycelia while invading them to eventually take over the substrate?

Just coir, and 1:1.5 roughly, spawn:coir. I add just a layer of coir on top f the mixed block when i flatten it out. Thats it. Took a bit to actually fruit and I didnt get an insane overlay of mycelium. It was there for sure just not a lot of it. I got 3 more MS shoeboxes running. Interested to see what comes next. Making lots of prints.

Yeah those are looking great
I like the twisty stipes. Mine are all turning out pretty straight
A few pics from the 2nd flush of this mono. Looks like a decent pinset for 3rd flush is coming in too. I'm really liking this species so far. I think the total weight isn't anything spectacular, but this might be the fullest looking flush I've gotten from MS

Nice flush! Interesting blue caps in there too, are they old/bruised or just natural appearance?
I haven't seen that before. Great tub!

Finally happening... Metabolites and pins, fucking weird myc 🤣

Also the overlay height the time of pinning was nearly 3ins. So much for a casing layer 🙄 they're literally sky pins.

Damn bagga that is some crazy looking growth. Almost like Enigma. Excited to see how those pans develop
@LimitBreaker mine was a 66qt sterlite unmodified with 4 qts spawned 1:3 with coir. Yield I'm not sure because I never weighed. I'll post the final dry weight that I got from all 6qts that I spawned. Looks like I'm getting a solid third flush from both the tubs, too

I could send you a Nat swab if you like. Can't guarantee cleanliness as they're the first swabs I've made and I've not tested any from the batch.

Well that first cake was a bust.. got that one weird pin and it looked like it had some kind of disease or something lol.. didn’t drop spores and looked like swabbing was just a bad idea.. but the other cake looks like it’s gonna put out some decent fruits

Anyone else ingested that overlay yet? One person about 20 pages back said they made tea with it and said it was active.
I'd love to hear more. I'll try it when mine hits. It's still climbing through quart jars.
