I think Jake said they got the results for this and pans a couple weeks ago now but we haven’t heard anything that I’m aware of.
My wedge jars are looking great, I’m guessing two more days til spawn.

Crack have you run any clones yet?
Grims covering the surface idea is interesting. Maybe natalensis would do better with a spawn run and consolidation like PE. Or colonizing a bag and then cutting a slit like gourmets.

Slit in a bag sounds interesting. If my plastic wrap idea goes anywhere the bag could push out some giants. Just came home to these big boys.

Beautiful. Man I can’t wait, one of my tubs is almost colonized.
Are they solid stipes? That’s a shoebox sub right?? Those look pretty big.
What kind of first flush yields are you guys getting?

I haven't, only ran MS. I'm excited for my clone. Hopefully it goes better than my APE clone, little fuckers.

Shoebox sub. The ones in the pic are solid and really dense but not usually they're soft-ish and fibrous when fully mature. My 1st flush yeilds have sucked lately. My dehydrator is running constantly for 10 dry grams at a time. I still can't get a decent surface so I'm ending up birthing most shoe boxes into the tent.
My fresh culture from thin myc I have on 10 jars now but it's moving slow. Just realized they were pretty close to the air conditioning vent that I have closed and a towel over but they were pretty cold. Moved them across the room.

Fuck yes that looks dope for 4 days!
lol I got a hold of a plate of ape clone around lagm I think, and just now have my first pins. It’s been an ordeal for those little bastards.
How many days in are pins showing in the natalensis tubs?
I saw something that looked like a pin/blob on one of my plates the other day, haven’t checked on but I should probably clone it.
I wish I could do this like they do on tv cooking shows. Just be like “ok so we’ve spawned our tub, just gonna put this down here...” then pull out a fully colonized sub “and two weeks later we see some pins”.
Really I’m just happy I have stuff going on and I’m not looking at 30 spawn jars everyday waiting. The Tasmanians I got right now are super dense. Like 3 times the weight of a similar size toc fruit.

Tasmanians are the only ones that produced solid stems lately for me. Some how that seems like all I have running at the moment. I can't wait for my Nat plates to grow out. I have gone T2 from the plate crack sent me. T1 I'd bruising I think there is something wrong with my light source. I'm getting bruising in a lot of jars as well.

I'm getting pins in 11-15 days.
I'm not growing anything but natal now except 1 melmac. Its helped me to have mass amounts of grain and subs in all different stages and not get overwhelmed.

So I just checked my shoebox and found a couple tiny maggots on the wall. There was a tiny fly stuck in there a few days ago I had to scoop out. So gross. Other than that looks ok.
Then here’s my sweater box with two quarts of spawn at four days. Judging by the bottom it’s at least 95% colonized already which surprised me. I thought the surface would look much thicker.

Hurry go buy some play sand from the depot and boil and strain it and mix it 30/70 with coir. I can't wait to test this idea! I'm still on plates. Not even to grain yet.
Then do a really light casing and put it back into fruiting. I have a theory about the sand leaching the water from the coir and preventing overlay.

Is be really happy with that surface aka. My surface usually leads the sub and thats where the overlay ends up not leaving room for a decent pinset.
