Get out of here with that normal myc!
Lol I bet it fruits well.
I finally did transfers then dropped wedges of flat and fuzzy myc to jars.

Here's my T1 of trying to get thin myc next to the germ plate. Little better, probably keep working on it but I have a shit ton of spawn right now and seeing improvement on the latest subs.

Well my jars are picking up speed.
I’m tempted to spawn this one now. It’s hard to tell in this picture but everything is covered in thin myc. This happened with my toc lc for lagm, same thing took a few days then there was thin myc all over then it thickened up over a few more days.

Looks like you guys are getting the myc tamed.

Exactly, mine look like that too.
Have I shared this picture yet? If so, sorry guys. They start whitening after a few days.

The way the myc grows on my germ plate all super fat rhizo fingers climbing up on the lid and all the overlay in pictures of tubs I though the jars would be solid white immediately.
I do have a couple bits of thick growth like that in some jars.

My overlay has gotten better since I stopped TL/casing. This is 9 days so it should pin in 2-3 days.

I'm not yet ready to steer away from this culture. If these new ones don't overlay bad I think its worth keeping with its track record of contam resistance.

Ok..... I've got some very thick pillowy plates I didn't know if I was going to clean them up more but I think I'll go ahead and put them to some grain tonight.

Yeah grim that’s way cleaner. I always want to chop those rhizo chunks off the wall and put them on a plate.
Do it crack i only had enough for one wedge but I put my fluffy myc to grain this morning.

Thanks aka that wedge will blow up before you know it. I sterilized 20 qts in two days and made 30 new leak proof sfd lids. Phased out all my white Ball lids. Exponential expansion going on here.

I hope so I’m ready to spawn some already.
Is that last pic the same culture you’ve been doing and getting overlay from?
If it is that’s a huge difference. I wonder why it blows up from top layers that makes no sense to me. Unless in the wild it grows on top of stuff instead of through like normal cubes.

Yes same culture. It seems as if as long as there's substrate no matter what it is it'll keep reaching through it causing blobs and overlay. As I said in an earlier post I dumped half a qt of jiffy in my sub by accident and it didn't care. Colonized it as if it were coir like my straight coir subs. There's magic to happen with these if we can figure out how to shut down colonization at just the right time and get the perfect surface conditions before any overlay happens. I'm getting closer. Maybe its myc choice maybe not.
Fuck maybe just the opposite of what you'd think and a top layer of spawn.
One thing I noticed it doesn't seem to mind heavy dripping off the lid. I usually shake my heavily condensed lids off periodicly before it drips hard on the sub but doesn't seem necessary with these.

My germ plate has grown over the edge, under the lid, and is probably going to get through the cling wrap in a day or so.

Only oyster has ever done this before. The wedges I dropped are more like I expected, a day and a half in and looks like normal cubes at 5 days.

I've noticed that with my plates as well. With mine, it seem like it tries to pin under the saran wrap. It at least turns cap-colored, but it is too smashed to see whats really going on. I think I'll open one of those plates of mine up for science and to get a closer look tonight.

My plates all turn out like this, but that might be glass vs polystyrene. Hell, amazonians don't care and grow all over the lid too:

They never go past the cling wrap tho. Would be funny to have pins growing out of dishes.
Really interested to see how natals turn out for me. I did some transfers from germination plates today.

" normal " cube mycelium up against the Natalensis thick mycelium. The Natal is still slightly featherly but thicker than a snicker.

No kidding man.
It’s really weird how fat a lot of the rhizo is on my germ plate.
It’s Iike the cube version of double stuffed Oreos.

Aimed for thinner myc on my germ plate and wound up with this at 9 days on T1.

Imma let it grow out a couple more days and noc a few jars off that right side.
