I don’t have any jars of it going at this very moment but mine were like stupid thick rhizomorphs. Very ropey on agar and oats

Reason 99 I love summer. Old sub lazily tossed in the garden with grass on top. Watered once. Thick and meaty!

I’m starting to think I might’ve messed up my lc, it’s definitely spread all over the jar but it’s recovering way slower than I expected. I did prep a couple jars too wet though.
They should still be useable but I was hoping they’d be almost done by now.
Gonna do a pc run in a few and then drop some wedges.
What kind of weather do you have grim?

I gave up on liquids a while back never had much luck with them. I'm sure it's user error but just couldn't get it to work consistently enough to keep trying. Good luck with yours though.
Its been hot here 80-95F during the day.

Either my LCs eat the whole jar in a matter of days or fail miserably. The problem is not knowing until it’s too late. Even when I test it out on agar I’ve seen the myc spread first and then after a couple days of a seemingly clean looking culture contamination comes out of nowhere.

Is it humid??? I guess it must be for them to grow.
Lcs definitely take some experimentation but when you get it down they’re the best. Just recently I got one that went from plate to lc to spawning the tub in 10 days. I was spawning when the culture was just getting big enough to knock up a couple jars the usual way.
I’ve been pretty consistently running side experiments with lc/li and it’s taken a while but I’m almost at the point where I’m gonna make it my main method.
Does natalensis colonize grain quicker than normal for you guys or is it just the usual?

My problem with liquids is I'm too lazy to test it on agar and even if I do whose to say it looks clean but isn't? I know it works great when it works but I'm really good at fucking it up.
IME these are maybe 25% faster on grain than your average cube and my oats are probably under hydrated. I've just been doing a quick 10-minute hard boil that's it. Come out great but probably not as hydrated as they could be.

I had a jar of TOC that once fully colonized looked dry. I added tap water for 24 hours and in the morning poured out the excess.. I tell you the amount that came out was way less than the amount than went in.
I know about all the threads of the past about hydrating colonized grain just wanted to bring it back for 1 shoebox.

I don’t test mine either but I’m not doing massive batches. I feel like I’m just as likely to contam it while testing. Plus it adds time which defeats the point for me.
All six look similar to this, a couple are further along but still not what I wanted on day5.

I can't say how it should be since I suck at LC but my g2g from yesterday is about 3x more populated than that.

Lol yeah sounds about right.
It’s recovering like I poured too much which I’ve been careful not to do lately but maybe adding agar to thicken up the lc means i should use less.
I should be dropping wedges tomorrow looks like it’ll be close which finishes first.

I went away for a couple of days and the little Natalensis patch I have going blew up while I was gone. Like the last time the stems turned a kind of grey blue. The pictures just don’t do the color justice.

The Argentinians beside them also grew tall and toppled...

Here's my latest g2g at maybe 36 hours?
My confidence has been really high on this species like I cant fail. Work has been sloppy and it keeps proving me right. I'm ramped up to 40+ quarts spawn and put everything else on the back burner. My friends can't get enough.

That weird they’re bruising so much. I had an RSX that exact color.
It looks like you cased with no problems too.
I’m super jealous of how big those Argentines are.
