First tub is from a tomentose culture, second from a rhyzo culture. Can't really tell from the pics but the rhyzo tub is definitely more ropey, go figure. Cased with potting soil a few days ago... overlay gods please be easy on me

Definitely less overlay so far with the soil casing

Potting soil tub is still chillin. Gave me two fruits and went back to colonizing the casing layer. Noticing a lot of pins on the side, might flip it in a day or two.

In the mean time I split a quart between two shoeboxes, one with a solid top layer and one with exposed grain (forgot to add one while spawning and figured I might as well roll with it). The one with exposed grain seems to be doing well. Minimal overlay and it started knotting yesterday. The covered one began to fluff out as usual after breaking through the top layer. Covered: Exposed grain:

I just tried a 1 dry gram tea. The onset was fast and trip lasted maybe 2 hours. I was so sedated I had difficulty holding my fishing rod. Very dreamy and numb. I love how fast mine dry in the dehydrator because they’re so skinny and long. Cracker dry and black inside after just 4 hrs. Such a unique species Another plus to the fruits I’ve been getting is since the caps are so small and I can’t just run the dehydrator whenever I want, after taking these prints I have no problem pitching the flesh.

If anyone who is serious about helping me work with an F2 print of the potential cross in my sig HMU with a PM sometime today and I will get it in the mail tomorrow.
Serious inquirers only because I will be stepping down from actives for a while but still want to see where these genetics take us

Final shoebox 3rd flush coming in looking mighty fine!

I also took all of my Nat photos from over the last month and a bit and made them into a grow log. Thought you guys might like to check it out! Link: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27343024#27343024

For me these are what I think of as the standard natalensis look. Fat bottoms, long curved stems and small caps.
Those have great color too. Is it just coir?

I’m almost positive now that my playa x nat cross took. I took 10 caps and only one of them printed which is common for playa according to Nichrome. Has anyone else had their regular nats not print? The majority of mine were sporeless

Andreo, all mine printed no problem. Do you think there is any chance Playa Uvita is also P. natalensis, but a localized version? I haven't grown it yet, but it's peaked my interest.
Aka, my third flush on a couple shoeboxes had that same pheno as angram's and yours but with shorter stems. The rest of my flushes were almost exactly like Crack's. As far as I've been able to tell those are the two main phenos for Nats.

I prepped 2 large foil sheets for a ton of caps and also prepped 6 prints. Left the caps for +24hrs and nothing printed after that. Only 2-3 caps printed from the lot.
I was very surprised to see this because my tub was sporulating just fine before harvest and there were spores on all the gills.

I can't say I haven't thought that Natalensis and Playa Uvita were the same.

I didn’t even see that when I first read it unless you edited it. Yes I think it’s absolutely possible they are the same species. Playa was discovered in Costa Rica
