I think the fruits do that when they grow down against the substrate/against the sides of the tub, or are too heavy to support themselves. Every shredded fruit I get has a cap that is touching either the side of the tub or the substrate. The ones that manage to grow unobstructed tend to come out intact.

That is not the case for these tubs

My apologies, then. Looks like each shredded fruit is curled over. These things grow all over the place, makes sense that some will get stuck.

They are curly yes. But not because the tops are heavy or because they hit the wall. They just grow too fast for their skin it seems. They are super dense and fibrous inside

My first nats, 60L tub.
Overlayed pretty badly so I improvised and added a casing made of ~85% perlite and ~15% CVG, but it ended up eating through that shit like it was groceries and overlayed again.
The tub started pinning heavily on the sides and a couple days later it began to pin on the surface too, so it didn't turned out bad in the end considering the amount of side pins. There's even a lid pusher lol
Print from Wall-E aka Myc_hunt.

Got a print of this on the way. Read through about 80% of this thread. Is there a consensus on controlling the top of the substrate? From what I gathered, less substrate and no top layer is best?

I haven't read the thread but now that you mention it, that's my plan for my next grow, no top layer at all
These things are weird af, myc seems to grow more aggressive the further away from the nute source. Not sure about ratios, I may be trying a lower ratio next time.

After full colonization case it with 3mm potting soil. It stops the overlay and you'll see pins in about 3 days.

I'm harvesting the tub I posted earlier rn. Harvesting these is proving to be a royal pain in the ass, don't wish this shit to my worst enemy.
I'll eat some fresh in a minute to see if the legends are true.

These are holding to the sub for dear life, plus it's a crazy mess of spaghetti life forms.

I think the reason my first tub harvested so easily now that I think about it is because right before it started to pin I smashed down the whole surface of fluff with a paper towel into like a mat of myc. If this tub is a bitch to harvest I will know to do that again next time lol

I'm in a romantic mood today...baby mushrooms are again pleasing! The mycelium Psilocybe Natalensis grows in the forest, collects moisture and creates its own microclimate around the sprouted mushrooms.A magical symbiosis...

At the weekend, there was a trip with a much more serious dose of 4 grams of dry mushroom brewed in tea.
Traveled at night. There was no entrance at all, just as if by magic, I found myself in a calm and fundamental world. No visual images-only visions, and very bright and clear associated with the ethnic place of growth of the mushroom.Mother Nature herself came to talk to me....it was all very unusual - more like a dream. I would compare this to the dissociative experience of other substances.
The trip lasted for three hours and gradually began to decline. Here I already felt very tired.
I concluded that with a large dose of this mushroom, you need good preparation and a lot of strength.
