Nice work noob. These do look like mine, but yours have a different cap. Maybe my playa genetics were indeed mixed in.

That’s what I don’t understand. We’re those solid or hollow?

I had a just had a plate pins cap open up so much that the top became concave and the gills were exposed and actually protruding out past the sides of the cap. With no spore load.

I don’t think I’ve ever had hollow natalensis.
Half the time they’re splitting themselves open into a bunch of fibers.

Yeah they're more stringy than hollow, especially the spindly bois. They like to open all the way up I've noticed, my second and third flush fruits have a tendency to do that at least

This is my tomentose nat myc. The jar is kinda dirty but if you look close it looks a little moldy. I really don’t think it’s mold tho. Just super thin fibers type nat myc. It isn’t growing exponentially fast like I would expect mold to grow, but then again my grain is on the dryer side. What do you guys think?

Those look super cool, me wants.
I also got a print from Myc_Hunt, got some grain going so we'll see what pops up.

First time giving these a try. Spawned 1:2 on CVG on 4/24. Super impressed with the speed of this culture, even with the overlay. The top kinda spooked me and it had a ton of side pins, so I flipped it over and tossed it into a makeshift fruiting chamber on 5/4.
Clearly I was a bit impatient, as when I took a look at the surface/now bottom, I saw a surface full of pins and flipped it back over on 5/6. I'm not sure if the first flip helped the pinset or not, but this one puts the other three nat tubs I'm running to shame.

Seeing torn veils today but no spores yet. Hoping I can get some decent prints and clones from this tub. This was my most rhizomorphic culture, so I'm excited to see what the next few (all tomentose) do.

Do we know the results of cube nss vs natalensis? I feel like people are growing nss but it's really natalensis based off the overlay and rhizo growth i see

What do you mean by results? So far it's mostly more question marks I believe.
The DNA sequencing came back with natalensis as a separate species. Vendors seem to write whatever they want on a syringe, and say cubensis natal super strain, ps. natalensis, natal super Saiyan psilo ensis, etc.
At least one person in here seems to have crossed it with a cube variety I thought.
Fungi genetics are weird though. Especially when you get into horizontal gene transfer. A DNA sequence can say it's the same species when breeding tests say they are different and vice versa.
Fully talking out of my ass with this last one, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone took some of the new novelty cubes and ran a DNA sequence, that it has enough differences from the reference sample, that it may show as a separate species.
I've not personally thrown out that this is a weird mutant cube or cube cross, or cube that picked up some genes from a cousin.

It hasn’t been crossed that I’ve seen.
The issue is that the area called natal has natalensis and also cubes. The myc is really the only way to tell them apart.
Speaking of the myc, apparently letting it colonize and overlay and then adding more coir helps. These clones are insane, almost pulling the liners closed from overlay, but the one I added another layer to looks normal now.

Top layer after full colonization works great. I use poting soil strait from the bag an a few days later I get a canopy of pins.
