Going beyond 3 flushes

So my sub from my very first grow is still going, I think it’s on flush number 6 or 7 and it’s prob half the size it started at.
I know you get less shrooms every flush but is it normal for them to start mutating? I guess technically this culture is old as shit now so it would make sense. Up til now they’ve all been normal looking but the five or six growing this time all look weird.

You might considering posting photos.
However yes, the later flushes often do weird things, and can produce monsters.

Did they recently get a long dunk and/or heavy mist?

I thought they looked water logged too.
I put it in a couple inches of water for like two hours then soaked the top with the mister last time I harvested, but that’s basically what I do everytime. Usually keep it totally submerged for at least an hour.

The in curling butt look and the long dark strips suggest they are a bit water logged, which can happen as the substrate just can’t hold onto as much water and it sticks around on the surface. But since they’re mostly water and a dry substrate won’t produce fruits, being water logged is the better option.

Huh I never thought about the sub losing ability to retain water, I guess it never comes up cuz there’s no reason to get near that point besides novelty.
Do you think a bacterial sub would get this far??
This thing had super thick weird looking myc after I cased it and the thought was either bac in the spawn, or introduced at casing cuz the tek I followed said to sterilize the peat.
I wasn’t sure I would get anything from it let alone have it around almost 3 months later.

Your fine let it fruit. They almost look like pf amazon mutants. If it had bacteria in the sub it can still flush multiple flushes. It shouldn’t be an issue as far as eating them other than maybe giving you some gas.
