What happened to my grow? My BRF jars looked great after birthing but now...
    #26412612 - 01/02/20 02:07 PM (4 years, 27 days ago)

This is my first grow and I don't have much knowledge on contamination after birthing. I've been following the updated PF tek for BRF jars transferred to a SGFC.

My cakes looked great for the first week although there were no signs of growth at that stage. I allowed my friend to take care of them while I was away over the holidays and they experienced some blue/black growth on the cakes and now some of the mushrooms are black, which leads me to believe they are contaminated.

Here is a picture of one of my jars nearing full colonization:

I followed the PF tek exactly as described for birthing/dunking/rolling and set up my SGFC as laid out in another post.

Here's a picture of the initial fruit from one of my B+ cakes:

A few (~4 days later) golden teachers.. you can notice some of the blueish growth on the cakes at this point:

Here's another cake from around the same time frame. These don't look good.. I'm suspecting contamination but I'm not sure at what point that occurred.

Is this contamination? A watering issue? I've received some mixed advice and am mainly concerned about safety when it comes to ingesting. I wouldn't take any of those blackened mushrooms but am considering ones that look quite healthy, as there are still many of those.

Here are some that I harvested from a rather healthy looking cake:

I'm mainly looking for advice from anyone that has experienced such a situation in their fruiting chamber before. Are the ones I harvested safe to eat if the cakes exhibit some of the blueish growth seen above? Is this even contamination? Is it a watering issue? Any feedback is appreciated.
