Opinions on projectors?

Looking into getting a projector/screen setup -- I haven't had a TV in about a decade, literally just use my laptop for whatever videos and movies.
Curious about first-hand opinions. Specifically looking for something that's 4k lumens or more, has a 1024 x 768 or higher resolution and is under $150 that has bluetooth capability, ie can stream directly from my computer to the unit itself.
Anyone have any experience with these things?

Your best bet is to find one on used that you can view/demo before purchasing.
Being totally transparent, you won't get anything of passable quality for $150. It's just way too low of a budget. A decent screen by itself will be like $600-800.

Looking at reviews all around, there seem to be decent screens for $50ish. I can't imagine paying over $500 for a simple white screen when my wall itself would probably do just fine, lol.
May consider upping my "standards" price wise, was just curious if anyone on here had personal first-hand experience with using them.

I’ve had two projectors, I like them, they were Christmas presents for my son. I have it set up in a spare bedroom with a few recliners. The image size is probably close to 5 feet X 8 feet. My current projector is 5-6 years old, it doesn’t have Bluetooth or anything like that. I probably paid $300-$350 for it, most of its use is for video games. You’ll need to get a surround sound system, mine was about $100 for 4 speakers and a woofer (?). It really sounds great but isn’t high tech at all and has no remote for the volume. I’m sure current sound systems and projectors have more features. Flat white paint would work fine for a screen, I bought screen material from some place online called Carl’s and built a simple frame for it. I expect projectors now are higher tech, Bluetooth, and wireless connectivity or whatever. One thing to consider is the heat generated. My first projector I got from eBay would heat up that bedroom, I expect a LED projector wouldn’t do that. We haven’t used it in a long time, I should do a movie night soon.

You can get a great HD projector that supports HDMI (and Chromecast) for < $250. We bought one on Amazon and have used it outdoors with a sheet and now use it against a blank white wall just fine. It's amazing.
Prices have come way down since the light source now uses super bright LEDs as opposed to the expensive bulbs used in the past.
I'd start by looking for a projector with the best lumens per dollar ratio.

Thank you. That's actually how I was going to go about it -- lumens per dollar. Pretty set on seeing what I can find for under $100 or so. Not so concerned with high definition or anything (I say that now..) but yeah. Still looking on occasion, haven't actually bought one yet. I'll update this with something of a review for anyone else in the same boat for the future.
