Spawned a week ago, rye with coir and a little verm.
No misting or fanning and just had the lid on not cracked it yet.
Does it look dry?

Id let it do its thing. As the myc grows you'll notice more moisture on the substrate surface

If anybody has noticed the small round metal circles, they are tiny magnets, i put one under the lip of the box and one on top and then i can increase/decrease the small amount of FAE i have and still stack boxes. Was thinking of writing a post about it but not sure if people would benefit or not. Only really good for unmodded boxes.

It might need a light misting. It looks like some of the edges of the sub are slightly darker from the water dripping down the sides. That's a good way to know if it's getting a little on the dry side. Remember, always better to be too dry than too wet.

Would put that lid back on and let it do its thing. Less is more in this hobby.

Thanks everyone, I gave it a very very light misting from height and the mist settled on top in tiny little beads so I think my surface conditions are good.
It's been 2 weeks today since spawning so I expect to see some little pins popping up over the next 7 days.
Will update in a few days

I'm a proud father...

Will I be able to tell if these are PESA or ecuadors when they reach maturity as I forgot to label the jars?

No misting?
A lot of people here seem to like linking that "proper surface conditions" thread which suggests you must always have beads of water on the surface then wait for them to evaporate and then mist again.

I wouldn't if it was mine. Keep the lid on and keep it humid. They'll pull water from the sub. Give it a soak after you harvest and you'll be good to go. A lot of people keep things too wet also

It’s pretty hard to tell most cubes apart unless you’ve grown yours a few times and get a feel for them.
That said it’s definitely possible somebody might be able to, especially if they sent you the print.
Congrats on the pins man looking good. A VERY light mist once in a while, like every other day or so, won’t hurt. But don’t let it dry out either. Knowing when to mist was the hardest part for me to learn.

Very proud, decent pinset considering it was MS direct to grain.
Got a couple more shoeboxes colonising nicely too, I guess I'm just lucky with MS to grain.
P.s they have pretty much doubled overnight, will update nearer harvest time

Ime ms to grain gets a bad rap, both grows in my sig were syringe to wbs.
Maybe I just got particularly clean syringes but I’ve four of them multiple times and always gotten at least one good flush.
Definitely had some bacterial jars but they all worked out.
I will say now that I’ve done some agar to grain jars they look much healthier, but as long as you get a flush who cares right.

I think you pretty much summed up people's complaints about MS to grains. You can get at least a flush and maybe more before contams take over. If that's ok with you, then great!

I’ve only had two out of around 20 only make it one flush, I just had one go 7 and finally trich out lol.
Basically what I’m saying is for somebody who just wants a personal stash of mushrooms ms to grain is a good option. When I first started out and was reading up on things people had me convinced I’d be lucky to even get mushrooms going syringe to grain, which is not true. It won’t be perfect but it will work.

Well I'm gonna flush this bad boy and see how many times it goes round before it funks out on me.
I'm with you on this though Aka I'd rather have a good flush or two than be able to get 6 or 7 flushes. I'd rather just spawn a fresh tub than use up my wardrobes real estate trying to squeeze a few extra grams out on latter flushes.

Cut a few of the ones that opened up. Just waiting for the rest.
Think they are definitely active...
