Just rhizo right?

Yooo,

Just making sure cuz im paranoid about my last grow getting contaminated. This is just rhizomorphic growth in these jars and not a contaminant correct? Probably be spawning in the next day or 2.

That stringy stuff is rhizo.  The uncolonized grains indicate bacteria maybe.

But a lot of those grains are so tight against the glass it looks like that's why the myc couldn't get to there.

I don't think it looks too bad.

But it could be better.  It looks like maybe the grains were a bit too wet.  Hard to tell from the myc covering most of it, but it looks suspicious.

If you can get the grains just right then its easier to get them fully completely colonized.

If you want you could shake it up once more and see how it recovers.  That'll tell you if you have a bac problem.

They do look bacterial but that doesn’t mean there trash. I’d spawn them to individual shoeboxes.

Shake again and see in a couple days, you’ll know when you open them from the smell probably.

Look bacterial.

Jars look really wet also.
Maybe try not filling them with so much grain,
may help with condensation if you’re prepping your grain right.

that first one looks like its not very good for sure and all def look bacterial. but id still spawn to individual tubs as stated already. what was your method of inoculation

Lots of bacteria doesn't even give off a scent. I've had some pretty gnarly looking jars that still smelt pretty mushy...

I've never had a bacterial jar not produce either so they are definitely worth spawning.

Also in jar #2 you can see the mutated mycelium, which is a tell tale sign of bacteria...

Damn....getting my heart broken this morning. Anyhow, I usually do the 6 qt. Shoeboxes with 2 jars of spawn and 2 jars of coir/verm mix to make roughly 4 qt total. How would I do them individually? Just do like 1 qt spawn and 2 qt coir mix?

Also, would I be better off to just straight spawn or give em a shake and see what happens?

They don't look bad imo, you shure should get some fruits out of them.
I would not shake them at this stage, since it would just redistribute the contaminants that are already there.
You can either top fruit them directly in the jar by putting a bit of coir on top, or still spawn them to shoeboxes. I'm pretty sure your proposed recipe of 2qt spawn and substrate each will give you a decent yield. Would not go too low on the spawn/sub ratio, because if you have more spawn colonisation is quicker and there's less time for the contaminants to take hold.

Just do it how you always do and dont listen to anyone telling you to top fruit IMO. Unless you just hoping to get like 5 dry grams out of a quart.

I took 4 jars that were bacterial AF way worse than yours and threw them all together in a mono and still have some decent fruits coming out of it..

Just do it man you'll he fine, bacteria isn't a death sentence at all...

So ya I'd just stick to two jars per box...that's just me tho

and like that other dude said, dont shake and wait... just spawn em.

Yeah I wouldn’t shake them just wait it out. I’d run shoeboxes with one quart spawn and 2 quart substrate but u might get lucky if u spawn them together.

Agreed in my experience those mycelium fingers popping out of nowhere are a sign of bacteria not rhizo growth.

Spawned 4 of the 6 jars this morning.  Still waiting on 1 of the other 2 jars to finish colonizing and ill spawn them to a shoebox as well. The 4 I opened today didnt have much of a smell at all from the jars but did have the strong muchroom smell when mixing into the sub. I usually let the tubs colonize for 10 days before casing with a very thin top layer of oven sterilized verm and move into fruiting. Ill keep you posted how it goes. Thanks for all the help.
