Leucopaxillus albissimus(wonder bread?), unless anyone rejects..

its like wonder bread...it takes a long time to go bad.

Under conifers, growing in piles of needles and rotting wood. The white mycelium underneath the fungi is huge

close quarter gills, decurrent as well

white, semi hollow/mostly solid, stout

edges of the cap as wavy, top part of the cap is duffy/ reminds me of bread

light tan on stem where held

Smells bad, does not smell tasty; looks tasty like a piece of butter'd toast.

It's worth noting that the epithet "albissimus" translates to English as "whitest". So it's unlikely that a Leucopaxillus that's not really white is going to be L. albissimus.

Happy mushrooming!

Ah I've found one of these in a pine tree forest. Stunk something fierce.
