Colonized Jars & an unexpected vacation
    #26407480 - 12/30/19 08:58 AM (4 years, 30 days ago)

So I have 3 sets of BRF jars in the colonization process.... I leave for a 2 and a half week vacation in 16 days. The trip was planned long ago but we weren't going to be able to go. A lot has changed in the past few days, the same night I inoculated my 3rd set of jars we decided that we would still be taking the trip.

The first set of jars will be ready for dunking in the next few days and the other 2 sets are still a bit behind that first set.

What are my options for the jars? One guy I know said I should be fine to just leave them in the dark until I return and they will be fine... Another guy said I could try putting them in the fridge while I go away. (I know this could stunt growth in the long run but salvaging anything would be better than losing them all together)

Let me know your guys thoughts please. Again this trip happening was really unexpected and not something I want to pass up.  Just help me salvage these jars if possible!

Thanks all

They should be fine either way you could put the colonized jars in the fridge to avoid invitro pins and leave the rest and come back to all your jars being ready to birth...

Imo you should be fine. I've forgotten about jars for MONTHS. Somehow with the Verm they retained the moisture to live and actually fruited just fine.

Thanks guys, sounds like you both think I will be in the clear and from everything I’ve read either option should work.

I think most of it is the anxiety coming with it cuz I want to start fruiting. Not wanting to wait is killing me lol
