Birthing cakes and fruiting chamber substrate

Hi, I'm birthing cakes ala Roger Rabbit's 1/2 pint brown rice flour and verm recipe and I want to put them in my fruiting chamber. What do I need for substrate in the fruiting chamber?

About four inches of perlite you waterlogged. Spray it down and let it drain to where no more water drains out of it. What size is your fruiting chamber and how did you do your holes?

that's total bullshit
you know damn well that perlite is an inferior substrate to kingsford charcoal, and there's no need to soak it. Only mist until you see beads of water beading on the briquets.

Post your questions here https://www.shroomery.org/forums/postlist.php/Board/2 For the most part people here are having a laugh. Like suggesting something as outdated as perlite/SGFC still being in practice. Those things went into the archives of how we used to do things AT LEAST a year ago. Hell those things were going out the window about when I registered this account in 2016

and i save the leftover briquets for grilling steaks and burgers to infuse them with shroom smoke and give them a distinct flavor.

There are far too many people to credit but basically that stuff is the standard now
