Cold Water Extract Experiment and Questions

So I had to leave for the holidays and had a few mushies that I had to harvest right before leaving. Since I didn't have time to dry em, I threw about 40 wet grams into a half pint mason jar filled with ice.

I know it is not very stable, but does anyone know how long it can last roughly? I don't really have a good time to test it until next weekend.
I think I'm just going to filter this with a pour over coffee maker right before consumption and mix it with some kombucha I've got brewing.

Low temperature slows down microbial growth it does not stop it. You did not freeze them, did you? I would worry more about microbial growth than loosing potency after three days storing shrooms in water in the fridge.

After three days I'd say the actives have been extracted from the solids. The water(minus solids) lasts about 2 weeks in the fridge.
Consume the liquid, consume solids if you want(I'd toss) and trip balls.

I don't know how long it lasts. I made this one and then did it about 4 days later. It took longer for the ice to melt than I thought.

Pretty decent time.

Filter out the solids and freeze it, for storage as long as you can keep a freezer running.

I'm just gonna strain it and store in the fridge. Sounds like it'll be fine for a week.
I appreciate the wisdom

Mushroom tea can really be preserved in the freezer indefinitely?

Gotta say this stuff is super cool looking.

Its about half a cup. I bet I won't taste a thing mixing this with a pint of something tart. Really excited about trying it

I'd just drink it straight. It gets it color from spores.

Ice / cold water extraction is ass backwards. Use boiling water. Then save your mushroom tea for as long as you want in the freezer

I think it's one of those things people may try once...especially if you just have a ton of fresh available. Tea is better for sure.

It's just the same jar with some light behind it. The junk in it is just some mushrooms crap that didn't quite get filtered out.

Eh, it's definitely a fun little experiment, especially since I had to do something with some fresh mushrooms. Honestly, it's easier then making tea. Let it sit for 5 days and shake. Bam. It just takes more time. If this mixes well with other drinks, I might do it again. To each their own.
