Fresh mushrooms turned black
    #26406122 - 12/29/19 10:56 AM (4 years, 1 month ago)

Hi everybody. First time posting, first time growing. I bought Fresh Mushroom growing kit - Mexican from Zamnesia, and eveything was going smooth. First pins appeared and I've opened the bag a little. But due to my job, I had to leave for whole week so I've put the shrooms in a cardboard box, added a heatpad below it, set it to 23C. Then I positioned it in front of the window so they get some light but not in direct sunlight. I left on Monday and first few pins were max 2cm tall, came home few hours ago and they were huge and black and black powder was eveywhere. I'm about to educate myself on forum but I need superfast info what to do with it. Are they ready to be thrown in trash? Are they safe to eat?

You’re good they just dumped their spores since you couldn’t harvest. Go ahead and harvest now then dehydrate.

They're fine.
Eat 'em or dry 'em just like they are.
