Hey guys, here are a select few of my petris got 15 more, T1 transferred from tissue sample. Transfer date from original petri with tissue sample was on the 26th, around this time of day. I'm mostly questioning the almost hazey ring around the white mycelium that I am seeing. Is this normal for early growth? Any help from experienced eyes would be really great!

Hey jcm, its lme agar. I thought the pieces of sediment from the malt did not affect the growth of mycelium.

Doesn't look too odd to me, I've had success on agar that's looked a lot weirder to begin with.
Leave it a while and see but in the meantime don't stress

Hey mu5h13, thanks for the reply. Even plates 4 & 5? Those are looking kinda dodgy no? Plate 5 I'm referring to that layer around the mycelium, and plate 4 that circular growth in the centre and around agar wedge.

Yeah plate 4 might be doing something odd, but it could also just be an odd area of moisture or something. I'd say it's too early to tell definitively so wait it out and see. Plate 5 looks pretty good to me, slightly odd shape of growth but hey ho I've seen weirder.
If you're really concerned and have extra plates take some wedges from the normal looking parts of plates 4+5 and start new plates from them. Either way I'd say wait it out and see what gives, also post updates so we can learn too please!

The dark ages. No better time in my opinion. Odd thing I learned to spell. I try real hard to be a sober prayer.
I know we all die for God. Cause I am God mother fuckers.

Those are pretty good pics. Others should take note of how you did that.
Those first 3 look good to me. 4 and 5 might be some bacteria in there, I would keep an eye on them. If the transfers are all from the same culture, I might just not bother with them if they were mine. Maybe just watch it to see for sure.
The chunks in that agar isn't a problem IMO. I get worse than that when I do BRF agar, and its not an issue for me.
