1 good trip, 3 bad ones

Hi all. I have had 4 trips so far.
The first time I did shrooms it was the best thing ever. (1.7g) Complete positive experience, fun, happy, no issues. This also didn’t make me feel as sick the others before the trip started. I was alone in my room for this whole experience. All good
Second time I decided to do 3g. This time I was with a couple friends and one of their houses. Started off ok. Felt little sick before hand but not too bad. The trip started off nice but maybe 2 hours in I started to get confused. Really confused. Couldn’t tell what was going on around me. This confusion just kept building up until I couldn’t really see what was happening on the tv (we were watching shows). The people on the screen were the only things I could recognize and they were speaking gibberish the whole time. It was getting too much for me so I just laid over and closed my eyes and waited the whole trip out. Couple times during this trip I felt 100% sober with no visuals for about 5 minutes until it went back to the trip again. Looked this up and couldn’t find anyone else who experienced this.
Third time I decided to dim it down to 2g. This time in the comfort of my own room alone. Things started off okay but felt more sick before the trip this time. When the trip started It was going nice. Until I started getting confused once again. I was watching YouTube videos. This time the confusion was not as extreme but still couldn’t understand anything in the videos I was watching. About an hour of confusion things cleared up but I was very very very bored. I’ve never experienced boredom of this degree. Nothing interest me, not even my phone or anything. I believe I just started at my wall for an hour in pure boredom just watching the visuals on the wall. Waiting once again for the trip to end.
4th time I decided to die it really down to 1g. This wasn’t too visual and I had confusion but little confusion. Also boredom ensued after the confusion once again. But the degree of Boredom was very little. Also didn’t feel sick at all before this trip. I still would say this was a “bad trip” since all It did really was bore me and never felt positive. This would have been a bad trip if it was a higher dose.
I have had a history of depression but not currently am depressed. Also these shrooms were all grown by me. No contaminants, my friends also used them on multiple occasions with normal trips.
Thoughts?

There’s a few things in your trip descriptions that are probably not that intuitive to you, so i’ll Try to explain.
First of all, it sounds like you’re not taking enough mushrooms;myou’re Hovering around a sub-psychedlic threshold. Next trip, try at least 3.5g dry.
Set and setting is crucial. Do your prep work beforehand:-
- get a music playlist ready (music has all sorts of benefits while tripping)
- make your space safe; remove sharp objects, things that can set on fire, etc
- get cushions and blankets ready, maybe some photographs of family and friends, some crystals, flowers, incense cones
- plenty of water, and also somewhere to go to the loo safely (you’ll wee a lot)
Make a tea from the mushrooms; pour boiling water on them and simmer for 20 minutes, then strain and drink the juice only. For a cleaner trip mix also with lemon juice. Both methods will vastly reduce the nausea, as well as fasting beforehand for a minimum 6 hours.
Cannabis; will enhance a trip, especially if you’re on a below threshold dose. But be careful, cannabis may really intensify the trip, so test the water slowly with cannabis.
Feel like I’m waffling now, and not conherently, as I had a mega-trip last night. So i’ll Leave these nuggets of info for you, and hope the helpful people on the shroomery can add to my advice, and maybe back up what i’ve Been trying to say.
Good luck, stay safe, and please report back with any findings you may have.
DJ Ed.

What he said.
Try it once more, alone, in darkness, at midnight. 3g or more.
Any electronic device should be far far away and turned off. Even, or specially, your mobile phone. Don't watch youtube videos, or TV. That will lead you on a wrong path.
Music might be ok, though. But once you start tripping hard there should be your own music heard inside your head. Any input from the outside distracts you from yourself.

Bang on! I’ve always listened to music while tripping; it grounds you and steers the trip. Last night, I switched the music off for half an hour in the middle of the peak, and within I’d say a minute, the music was back in my head. I think with music or without music both have their benefits, and pitfalls.
I also remembered last night to block all calls,on my mobile :-)
Take care, DJ Ed
