Just because it’s the “oldest” intoxicant doesn’t mean anything. That adds nothing to the conversation. They have shown there are no health benefits to drinking. I think if you say learn to enjoy it rather than abuse it, you don’t understand addiction. I’m not saying addiction means you’re powerless like they would have you believe. It’s just that for some they can’t control their behavior enough to not drink or drug. The withdrawals then start and they panic and go right back to where they feel comfortable and never end up changing. It’s not going to be easy by any means to stop but it is possible. I’m not liking OP’s whole “I’m doomed so I’ll keep drinking” attitude, you’ve already given up before you’ve even started. Give it an honest try and see what happens. When was the last time you even tried to stop drinking? You’ve clearly thought about it but when did you actually try it?

and what is a good drug choice? do tell. dont forget that alcohol is one of the oldest intoxocants, if not the absolute oldest intoxicant known to humans.
shrooms are older and better in every way
Can't really eat shrooms every day though.
Smoke more weed.

There is probably more than some merit in microdosing. I think it can certainly alleviate anxiety levels.

nah, I'm good. psychedelics helped me change my life enough to not want to escape constantly and avoid addictive patterns like that. I enjoy weed though, but don't really feel the need to smoke every day

I can’t even enjoy alcohol at all anymore. I completely stopped drinking it because of that. Every single time I drink alcohol I always freak out and get angry. No matter how happy I am before drinking it. Every.single.time that I drink alcohol I get angry.

Something in your life is causing that-- the booze is only revealing it.
