Having done a one off dose a month or so ago I went out again and managed to get enough libs for a week's trial. Doses were: Saturday 2nd - 0.315g Tuesday 5th - 0.289g Friday 8th - 0.2g During the week I have noticed the following: Big decrease in anxiety (especially the dreaded work day blues) Big reduction in anger (much more forgiving of bad drivers etc) Massive improvement with dealing with work **** (things that I would normall stress/mull over for hours have been rapidly dispatched) Noticed things I've never seen before (patterns in bricks that I walked passed 100s of times) Increase in awareness of beauty in nature (clouds and leaves etc) Massive laughing fit - Slight feeling of sadness/upset/emotion (only the once, damn cancer adverts)
Overall the week has been very good and I'm not looking forward to going back to normal SSRi's which I've had about 10 days off (again, normally a 10 day absence would be very bad but I feel good at the moment)
Tuesday and Friday were work days and no one said anything.
They sound high doses for,Liberty Caps my friend! People on here talk about 0.1g - 0.2g cubensis, which is a way bit weaker than liberty caps. I’m guessing you still had SSRIs blocking your 5HT2a receptor uptake, which also blocks psilocin.
But the effects you describe are fascinating. I currently dose every two weeks, but a large-is dose. One week after glow, one week preparing for next trip.
But what you describe sounds very appealing. I personally would have to go lower; couldn’t have a laughing fit at work! Which is exactly what I was like first few months on SSRIs! Problem for me was I lost those good feelings on SSRIs after a relatively short time, so the next 7 years I experienced no pleasure! Hello Shroomery, I’m happy again 👍🏻

It's possible although I am on a very low dose of ssri now and I had stopped for a while beforehand. I was going to try 0.4g of my cubensis (ecuador) but not so sure now

I’m almost off to bed, so being lazy I’ll just suggest you search a few of my recent posts where I talk about this. That is, SSRIs and psilocybin.
Very briefly, my story is that after 7 years on 100mg sertraline (Zoloft), it then took me 5 full months being completely free from SSRIs before I had what I would now describe as a proper mushroom trip. Don’t get me wrong, I did “trip” after about 4ndays abstinence, after a three week tapering down. And the trips got stronger over the next 5 months. But they were weird, weak, and there was little, if any, “magic”.
I hope I’m wrong in your case, because yes, everybody is different. I used to think it was roughly 45% people could trip while on SSRIs, 45% could trip after a few days abstinence, then 10% could trip only after a fairly long spell of abstinence. But after a spell on the shroomery, I am now starting to think that 10% was massively underestimated!
What got me through the 5 months off SSRIs were a few things: 1. I had hope and faith in the medicine, so I knew the pain would end 2. I learned to grow. Really threw myself into spending many spare moments lurking on here, and watching YouTube vids. 3. The trips generally got better as I persevered.
So if you try cubes, I’d urge caution.
But I wish you all the luck in the world. Sending much love through the wires to you pal. DJ Ed

Started with some 3g last week, and have been having a small teaspoon every day since Monday, and my anxiety is pretty much gone. I don’t even remember to take the prescription anxiolytics anymore!

Microdosing 0.1-0.2g 5 days on, 2 days off per Stamets' protocol (without the Niacin and with Lion's Mane tea) for a few months now has been working for a friend of mine...
Maybe start the dose at 0.1g and step up slowly? Strongly advocate measuring the dose so you can observe results based on meaningful data.
Enjoy!

No mate it’s MY room; the conservatory on the back of the house. The living room belongs to my wife, and it is bland and neutral 🤣 [Though it is AWESOME on mushrooms lol.]
So yeah, I spend most of my time in the conservatory. I now have my cultivation fridge behind the settee, so could, make room for beers :-)
All I need is a toilet and I’d never need to leave it.....

I’ve finished reading it last week. I’d highly recommend it to any psychonaut interested in the psychedlic realms. It has a wealth of historical information that is well researched and well written. His discussions of the renaissance and current research is also fantastic. I’ve already got the Johns Hopkins studies’ playlists on Spotify ready for tomorrow. He has a writing style where you have to read the next page 👍🏻
Haven’t read any of his other stuff yet.
Take care, DJ Ed

Dope. Sounds dope. currently immersed in a translation of the tae ti ching but after that i plan on reading it.
I have been way too attached to living a sober life. I need to trip. Im just terrified. I over analyze the nature of consciousness. The body. Taking a drug to change either. Getting sober from all drugs made me feel great and realize how drug use caused me to be disconnected from the reality of having a body. Constantly just treating my mind. But. Being sober for so long i think i have to accept that some drugs like mushrooms really can help in ways that disciplined sobriety cannot.

I think you’re on the right tracks, buddy.
Maybe though rather than calling mushrooms, “drugs”. Maybe replace that with “medicine”, or even “holy sacrament”. Don’t beat yourself up, they’re from Mother Nature and intended for us to use. We’re all part of one big mycelial network, after all.

I'd still consider them drugs. Many things are drugs, inevitable of their source. It's just that a very few drugs have given all drugs a bad reputation because of their connotation to abusive or irresponsible drug-users. Perhaps a better refinement to make would be how to define or perceive the term.
All things are part of the human experience.
...part.
Discipline might be the most human thing we have.
In regard to my experience with µdosing:
Quote:
I've been µdosing for about a year now. All of it has been on non-PE varieties of cubensis.
It started with, for years prior, almost always taking 1 - 1.5g dose once a week, usually on the weekend. Occasionally a bit more, occasionally a lot more. So, I'd consider this period to be an uncontrolled pseudo-therapeutic method of dosing. It did improve my depressive/bipolar symptoms, but I still swung in and out of mania/depression when nearing the end of that cycle. So, let's say maybe 3 days of stability, 2 days of minor swings, and 1 day of drastic swings. Normally, unmedicated, my swings were probably most frequently in the minor range, sometimes stable, and less frequently extreme. I'd say once every quarter year or so I was in dire straits, ready to pull the plug. That period was often when I'd take heavy (10g+) doses. And that levels me out. Not always miraculously overnight, but it gives that new light on the world to help you appreciate things.
Then, about a year ago, I finally decided to try daily µdoses. I started with ~350mg. It was great as long as I was quite active. I work in graphics, so, as long as I was stimulated with work it would simply get me hyper-focused and give me a maintained stamina/energy and, most importantly, it really leveled out my manic/depressive swings... almost unbelievably so. But, if things were slow at work, I'd notice those minor hallucinogenic effects - vibrancy in sound and vision, being scatterbrained, and sometimes getting... jitters, I'd say. Kind of like the physiological aspects of minor anxiety without the psychological distress.
So I dropped down to ~250mg daily. That did me quite well for ~8 months. Same therapeutic advantages with less of the occasional (somewhat) undesired perceptive effects. I don't like anything I take daily to effect my body so much that I feel much different than plain old sober human me. Which leads me to where I am now. I also don't like to depend on anything but food, water, and shelter. Especially what goes into my body. I've always rejected medication for my bipolar disorder and it's a bit of a task to even get me to take cold medicine or advil. I cut my frequency of dosing to once every other day. It still gives me the therapeutic benefits and I'm half as dependent - sweet. However, I started to notice, to a lesser degree, some of those undesired perceptive effects if I wasn't actively engaged in something. It's very minor. But, as I said, I like to be as clear-minded as possible. So, my next step is reducing my dose to ~150mg every other day. I have high hopes.
Anyway, I've spent a year without actively wanting to kill myself. I still have a weird 'sense-of-will' approach to the end of my time in this life, but that's more so in the case of terminal illness or something of the like. It's conscious as opposed to chemically delusional.

But I mean. I like being real about shit. Weed is from nature and I wasted half my life on it. I also gained a lot from it. It’s a drug. It’s a foreign substance. Can be good and it can be bad.
So with mushrooms I’m not ready to say they are a holy sacrament. I might say this in conversation when describing them to associate them with the feelings and ideas people have for a Christian holy sacrament because they are equally important but really for all we know mushrooms are just a fungus that contains chemicals that allow humans to escape the idea of themselves and produce and observe thoughts from the deepest primordial state of consciousness within them. This has led to amazing experiences and great contributions to humanity but they are still a forgeign substance altering the body’s natural function.
I guess I’m just so wrapped up in work and school I fear tripping and realizing all that I’m involved in right now in my life really isn’t for me. Because. Deep down. I think I know it isn’t. But I don’t know what else I could possibly do with my life. Right now my job and school are all I have. And yet. They are the main causes of my depression and anxiety. So beyond being a drug and altering my mind I really more so fear being forced onto a mysterious and uncertain path. The main reason I quit doing drugs and went back to college was to make my parents happy. I was so deep in spiritual questioning and just constantly exploring ideas and they never understood that. I had moved away from friends who did and my only peer group, my parents, would look at me like a schizophrenic when talking about life and consciousness. So I decided to stop thinking about it completely. I would repeat to myself everyday ‘you are this body not this mind’ to make myself identify less with thoughts. For a while it was a relief. I felt lighter and more open to new experiences. But now I feel empty. I find myself craving the connection I had to something spiritual. My mind has no direction now where as before even if I was aimlessly wandering through my own reality of information I was curious about, I had direction. Even if no one else could see where I was going or why I was going there I could. And now everyone can see where I’m going and I can state the superficial and generic reasons for why but deep down I don’t align with them. Deep down I don’t really see myself being happy at the destination.
In other words. I’m stuck. And mushrooms might be a way out. But the way out might be hard, and it might not be better than where I’m stuck.
Lol. Sorry if that made no sense. I also acknowledge I could be overthinking this completely. Seems to be something I do lately. It’s possible I could trip and everything would make sense and be fine.

Hey Nous333,
You’re definitely overthinking this. And mushrooms will definitely stop that (at least temporarily). Afterwards the hard work begins to retain that “lack of ruminating” style of negative behaviour and stopping beating yourself up. Mushrooms will let you see the situation from an objective as well as clean emotional perspective, rather than subjective.

Sure - don't mean to sound dismissive. I, too, see them as sacred medicines. But they are ultimately what we, as particularly technical creatures, would define as drugs.
Hope your experience gets better for you; not all of them can be great. At least they all pass.
