Trying to get PE plates to pin

I noticed a PE plate I recently made and kept around started to create what appear to be mycelial knots. I'm trying to get it to fully pin - any tips?
This one plate has a bunch of bumps / knots while the others have little to none. This plate also started to blue sooner than others although it has always looked clean. I'm assuming the yellowed bumps there now are essentially aborts as they started as white knots that stopped growing.
I'm hoping to get it to pin. I've misted it once a day (along with the other plates) to try and give them more favorable conditions. It's purely a fun experiment so if it's all down the tubes it doesn't matter. Any insight on how to proceed? For reference, these fully colonized around 12/1.

Misting plates? Wow, i thought i'd seen it all. PE is a finicky variety and sometimes will only blob even given proper conditions. I'm not sure what to tell you about getting the plate to pin other that give it time.
So, are you aware that the plates are no longer sterile? That is, unless you took some pretty extreme steps to mist it with sterile water in a sterile environment.

I have many PE plates from October and none of them are pinning yet, while the PE6 plates from November have all pinned. It just looks like it's taking longer and harder to get it to pin

LOL! Of course. They're fully grown out and so I'd equate it to a colonized sub at this point. I've already taken whatever wedges I needed long ago and this is just bonus round experimenting. If it contams then whatever.
My prevailing thought was that the bluing was caused by lack of moisture and so I was trying to keep it going to the point of actual pins since it seemed to have "promise".

Nice - did you do anything special or just let it sit? I took off the parafilm surrounding the dish hoping some more FAE might help get it to pin but in the end it may have just accelerated the process to dry out the dish...

Have you tried a proper casing?

If its fully colonized, leave it unwrapped and popped open(no pours) itll pin eventually: patience is key in mush cult: PARTICULARLY with PE

It's not even fully colonized: likely stress fruiting Caused by contamination(bacteria of some sort imo)...
Edit: closer look, the center majority culture looks to be a mold of some sort: morphology is completely off for cubensis

Just cloned 6 pe pins yesterday, the plates were inoculated 11/13 i believe, but only one group of plates pinned.

Yes they are cubes... they are golden teacher the reason they look strange is fungi perfecti has change their agar Recipe I didn’t like it at first but it’s actually easy to see contaminants instead of the mycelium being so dense you can’t see into it
