Not a Panaeolus species. These are Parasola conopilea or a closely related species in the genus Psathyrella.

Psathyrella corrugis (group?).  Parasola conopilea starts out with a vinaceous red cap.

I'm curious about how to separate them from other smallish conical species of Psathyrella.
I'm under the impression a common feature is red pigmented gill edges - as described
for P. corrugis, P. pseudogragilis and P. microrrhiza, among others.
Yet I see several posted observations on various sites that are supposedly P. corrugis, but lacking this feature.

"When young dark reddish brown" - yes, that makes sense.
