PE spores to agar: what am I looking for/at?

Of the 12 no pour dishes I’ve made, I saved four that I thought looked promising. I did a zigzag pattern with my spore tool and something is definitely happening. There is white blobs forming but also white fluffy stuff and I don’t know if it’s all the same. I’ve looked through the library gallery at Agar pictures but I’m still confused of what’s mycelium and what isCobweb mold. How can I tell the difference?

If there is mold, it's prolly not cobweb. Cobweb grows very quickly. It would prolly cover the whole plate and climb the walls in a single day. Try to get better pics

Looks possibly bacterial, but can't say for sure. Let it grow a bit a see how it looks.
I am confused about the saved 4 plates comment though. Do you mean you swabbed several and 4 looked worth saving, or that only 4 of the unused no pours looked good?

Thanks for your comment, Randalf. The plates that I discarded looked like they had growth in areas where I did not perform the zigzag motion with my loop tool. They had slimy spots on them. I also needed the jars for my next round of agar! Sidenote: I need to buy more jars

Gotcha. Yeah, slimy spots in the others is a sign of bacteria. If the others were contamed, it is possible they all were. May be the plates that are the issues, not the spores. I would say try making more plates. If only 4 out of 12 survived then something went wrong.

I transferred from that plate a few days ago and this is what I got on one of my plates that I transferred. I’m transferring this again tonight but curious does it look like a cube mycelium? Or am I transferring mold? LOL

Your dish got a good pump in at the gym, check out the vascularity. Lol
That’s really cool looking but unfortunately not in the way you want.
