Ghost pepper
    #26399368 - 12/24/19 04:06 PM (4 years, 1 month ago)

Tonight me and 3 other friends will be playing cards. Loser has to eat and swallow a whole ghost pepper

None of us have eaten anything even close before

If I lose, what should I expect? How important is milk here?

"What should I expect" ...lol

Yeah, have some milk, and/or ice cream...maybe even a bottle of vegetable/oil to swig on afterward.  It's gonna suck, and you're gonna wish you hadn't done it.

It's going to be ungodly hot. Prepare for a few hours of bad time.

I've eaten a number of ghost pepper sauces, wings, etc.. I don't enjoy it and I've stopped doing it. I settle for the second or third most spicy thing on the menu these days.

You should make it really interesting and do a Reaper instead. Seriously, though, you’re gonna hate life for the next day or so. Some type of dairy product is a must and stay the fuck away from water!

It's intense. I've never ate a full ghost pepper at once, but I have taken bites out of one many times. I enjoy spicy things though and I really do enjoy a good "burn" from time to time. (my buddy used to have a bag of dried ghost peppers and I'd occasionally take bites of em').

I actually get a pleasant high/rush from super spicy stuff for like 10 to 20 minutes, adrenaline and endorphins, then a lingering "glowing"/buzzing feeling for 30 to 45 minutes or so. Makes my head ring lol.

It really changes my entire head-space quite rapidly, it's an actual "experience" of sorts beyond just your mouth burning intensely lol...at least for me it is.

Something obvious that you may have not thought of...it will burn all the way down and you will feel it in your stomach. In my experience with super spicy peppers/stuff it's more of a load or a "knot" type feeling in the stomach along with distinct warmth swirling about rather than the burning that's felt in the mouth. I've got some nausea from super spicy stuff before too, it usually doesn't last long though.

IME it takes several minutes for the burn to build up and peak in intensity, if I recall correctly it's the most intense for me around 5 to 10 minutes after chewing it...Starting to subside around 10 to 15 minutes, mostly done by 20 to 30 minutes, but whole "experience" lasting about 45 minutes lol.

I can handle the burning (to an extent lol), but when I've ate ghost pepper (which is the hottest I've ate) the one thing that starts to become quite painful is a gnarly sharp pain in my ears...It's a super weird pain, I don't know how to describe it other than pain that's felt inside & around my ears...It is kinda a throbbing pain if I recall correctly...I don't know how common this is with super spicy stuff.

Don't lick your lips...use a rag/napkin to wipe your face if you need to.

Some cold milk can kinda help, if it becomes excruciating and too painful then try swishing some sort of oil in your mouth.

You'll feel it again on the way out :sadyes: :smirk: .

That's about it lol...It's can be pretty gnarly depending on how sensitive one is to capsaicin and how well one deals with pain, and depending how on how hot/how much capsaicin that particular pepper has. Depending on those things, I'd say the experience can range from "fuck my life this is spicy", to basically losing one's mind briefly (or even passing out) because the pain is so intense.

Report back regardless if you are the one who eats it or not lol...I'm curious how it goes since none of ya'll have consumed anything that spicy before lol.

This is why I about once a week go for hot wings at lunch time. It improves the rest of my day. It's a crazy type of high, one that sort of embarrasses me to talk about, but I really enjoy it.

Don't lose dude. Ghost peppers are insane!
I keep a baggie of them ground up in the cabinet, I love them but only a third to a  half a pinch; even that little bit in a dish gets my sinuses cleared out.

I grew them once, made hot wings with them. Didn't just burn the inside of my mouth, about a baseball size of my face centering on the lips on the outside was also in fire. Wasn't like the YouTube videos you see though, but I also really love hot shit so for someone less tolerant it might be a little different.

Honestly though, it's when it comes back out that you really gotta worry about it. Coming out those hot wings felt like a fire gnome wolverine wrapped in barbed wire was clawing his way out of my ass.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I now present to you... THE OFFICIAL DEXTER TRIPPING PLAYLIST!

My Tripping Playlist

Many centuries ago, there existed a formation of man. This version of us was of great power and great enlightenment. There came an evil presence known as the Babylonians. They are said to have reconfigured our DNA to make the majority of it void. This has encapsulated us in our limited, selfish ways. To seek truth we must tune our minds to the right frequency and only then we will truly know what to do.

Eating an entire ghost pepper can really fuck you up, man. Bad.

I've done it before (on a drunken dare).

People think it's how hot it will be as far as your mouth goes, but that would be the least of one's worries.

The true pain is when that entire ghost pepper is digesting away in your stomach. Feels like you're bleeding internally or that somebody shanked you with a hunting knife in your abdomen. And it lasted for hours. I didn't sleep one wink that night because of that.

I keep whole ghost peppers and whole scorpion peppers on hand so I'm no stranger to the hottest peppers on earth, but I would NOT recommend eating an entire ghost pepper.

I wouldn't even eat half of one.

He's not talking about Frank's hot sauce, he's talking about Frank's ghost pepper's. Two different Franks. The Frank of Frank's ghost peppers is his neighbor and isn't famous or rich, he's just a regular old Frank.

It's easy to get them mixed up though.

I shave off some ghost pepper or scorpion pepper into food I eat at home a couple times a week, and have been doing it for years.

The heat itself doesn't phase me at all, but if I ate an entire ghost pepper, as it was digesting in my stomach after, I'd be fucked. And completely out of commission.
