Anyone in Norcal selling one? I have been looking for 2 days now online with the intention of building one but the more I look the more I get discouraged and would rather buy one.

I went to the fungiperfect site and got a 12x24 combo and built a box and cord for $55. Filter and blower combo was like $440 I think

Not my idea but I'm in love. Changed everything for me. Never needed anything else. Filters are $20 but I've never needed to change it. I just keep it clean. I can get in and out of the same pitri a handful of times before anything goes bad. Kinda ghetto but I like that it doesn't look like a sab and it rolls up small for storage. Can be as big or as small as the bag I put on it. I work with gallon jars all the time no prob. Success depends on what I allow into it.

That's so cool you built yours so inexpensive. If I had a place for a permanent flow hood I'd be down. Not there yet but maybe next year.

.2 is pretty darn good

For the Original Poster

Here is the blower fungiperfect is saying to use for one of their 24x24 filters.

I’m gonna build mine, 24 by 24 I reckon, get a minipleat so only has pressure drop of 80pa to achieve laminar flow, add a bit for a pre-filter, so i reckon I need to deliver around 400cfm at about a pressure of 120-130ish Pa? Does that sound about right or have I missed something?

Been reading loads and trying to get the theory straight in my head before committing to buy...

That blower is the exact same as the dayton 1TDU2 that you can get on eBay new for $260 just so no one blows their money on FP’s blower

I was just looking today on Facebook marketplace and found a decent amount of blowers for $50 or less. I need to dig more into specifics but I'm gonna try to find a used one a d save a few hundred dollars.

I’m extremely doubtful of FPs filters is the only reason I haven’t bought one yet. Been going through the headache of distributors since most reputable company’s wont sell for home use and only for company use.

Just source the materials from somewhere else, no need to buy the stupid expensive FP.
I built my 24x16 FH costing less than $350 with all parts. For the fan, forget the blowers, they are so expensive 350 wtf... Just pick up any inline fan which can deliver that airflow under pressure.

I’ve built three hoods with FP filters. No issues with the filters and their packing job is top notch.

Wouldnt buy anything else from them but they keep filters in stock whereas most distributers make them to order so they can take a couple weeks and I’m impatient af.

I was super impressed with the packing too absolutely no way to get damaged unless was hit by a car in the middle of the road! LOL (I do buy his enriched agar too since I'm small scale)

FP does a top notch job with packing and shipping for sure, I've built 2 hoods, one from
FP and one from ebay.

Ebay hood 2'x2' filter

Decent hood. The order came with 2 filters but one was damaged i  shipping.

FP 2'x3' filter

If I were to build another I'd go with a FP filter again.
