Looks similar to what happened during my first attempt at using canned baby corn.

If it's that wet I imagine it will go anaerobic and become bacterial if air can't get between the kernels. Interesting to watch tho hoping for the best for your jar.

I'd use the corn to knock up other jars.
That pin on the baby corn is amazing.

I have an ungodly amount of BRF and corn jars going. I could definitely just shlop it into a few more jars...lol but I would love to just let it do it’s thang. Maybe just use the excess water to knock some jars?

She’s looking more healthy! Less liquid and the mycelium is thick in what liquid there is. Mycelium layer on top inch of corn is suuuuuuuper healthy and thick as well! I will post up a photo tomorrow! Or well later today XD (haven’t gone to bed yet)

I’m not sure that’s proof of a success at all. Cubes are very reluctant to pin on grain unless extremely well consolidated or, as a last ditch measure to ensure survival in the face of contamination. Pins on corn invitro seems to indicate bacteria is present in many cases. If you want to see for sure you should place a sample of the nasty soaked grains on agar and see what pops up.

Why would I do that ??? XD the only thing keeping this from molding over is sterile conditions and ALOT of mycelium. No shit it would contam out if i put it on agar...the same way flopping a colonized cow turd into agar would produce nothing but a bad time.

Also I think your definition of success doesn’t line up with what’s going on here XD

Why say things you aren’t sure of? -If it’s fully colonized (and not contaminated already) mold will not grow on it, even if you keep the jar open... next to your toilet. -Putting something that isn’t contaminated on agar will produce clean growth. I put grains on agar sometimes (when a jar colonizes ahead of the rest, to keep the genetics). -Of course you can clean up a piece of colonized poo on agar.

Contams =\= visible contams.
Seeing is NOT believing in mycology. There could be a bunch of different contaminants in that jar right now.

Correct and my above statement was along those lines exactly. It’s fully colonized grain sitting in a soup of liquid culture. I’m sure there’s a good amount of contams floating in there....but because it’s inside of a controlled environment the mycelium has staked it’s claim and figured out how best to survive...as it would in the wild it can fight of contams a many of different ways and still thrive and be healthy. This jar was a mistake on my part and this post was a record to show what happened. The success here is that most would think and most would get a jar of green or grey...a strong odor...and a “why didn’t I throw that out.” Obviously 🙄 when I said success I wasn’t comparing it to the outcome of a clean brf grow or a clean grain jar. But more of SUCCESS! On to the next step of this weird experience or experiment.

Typically, success entails clean myc🤷🏻♂️.
Either way, you can still clean it on agar. Or you might find out that it’s already clean. Wouldn’t surprise me much...

I have sooooooo much mycelium work going on this is purely a meme in a jar dude. I literally keep it out of respect that it’s alive. Putting it to agar doesn’t really do anything for me at the moment. 🙄 i figures the name creamstyle corn tek would be enough to keep the shroomey sharks at bay XD but it’s hardly ever fun and laughs round these parts.

I “sharked” your false claims, not you.
It’s just a bit obnoxious to get advice from a legendary TC and laugh at it, saying it makes no sense (especially since you’re wrong). But I guess it’s not my place to answer for him either, so I’m just as guilty. Anyway, stay chill dude, mush love. ☮️
