Really stupid newbie questin about light
    #2639808 - 05/05/04 12:58 AM (19 years, 10 months ago)

I think I have read ALL of the teks/faqs I could find and I still have a few questions about light before I start growing. After inoculating the PF jars do I expose them to light? or do they remain in the dark? Also, same for casing (for later project) do I allow the casing to be exposed to light before I put in fruiting chamber? Or do I leave it in the dark?

Sorry for the stupid newbie post... thanks in advance!

I try to keep colonising casngs and cakes in the dark.
Some light is needed from timeto time to check on them, but
in general I preffer mine in the dark up until fruiting.

After the inoculation process its very important to keep them in the dark. After the mycelium has colonized the substrate that is when you will need light because light triggers the pinning process.
