Sometimes I fear the world entered into Kali Yuga in 2012 instead of exiting it...

no we're not lamenting your death, you're posting in this very thread
spirituality is as much a scam as pretty much any organized psychological effort to help people tho
hell, secular mindfulness practices are developed out of Hindu and Buddhist teachings for the purposes of things like recovery from drug addiction

R.I.P rammed ass!
Leary called him that as well
late in his life he really adapted positively to the joke after he had a stroke he produced a second book (Be Love Now) where he frequently refers to it as his Guru stroking him

my slight misremembering of which book it was it was a slightly later book he did called Still Here where Be Here Now and Be Love Now are books more focused on spiritual growth Still Here appears to be focused on ruminations on death and death anxiety
remember footage of him writing/working with an editor on it in a documentary about him a while back

I read his most recent one Polishing the Mirror. Lot of weird shit that made me question his legitimacy, but it was followed by some stuff that resonated with me on a far deeper level than almost anything else I regularly come across. It was a worthwhile read to say the least.
"Gurus" ultimately can show you that the answers can't be found externally, through their own blend of imperfection contrasted by their depth of deeply relatable teachings.
Rest in the present Ram Dass

Very sad to hear of the passing of Ram Dass. Although I'm quite certain that he wouldn't want me to be sad about it. He would probably want me to smile about it because it's just a graduation of sorts.
R.I.P. Ram Dass. Tell Maharaj-ji I said hi.
