Marijuana Withdrawal

I smoked every day for about 5 weeks (not very wise ik). So now I have a 2 week vacation w family w no access to drugs (i’m never willing to risk brining shit on a plane). I was looking forward to seeing if all my afterglow effects from pyschs would disappear, but I think i’m going through a bit of withdrawal. Beyond feeling “cravings” to smoke, which are comparable to like wanting a good meal after not eating for a little while (not really bad at all and very easy to distract myself), I feel slightly irritable and that’s annoying bc that’s not really the type of person I am. I’m also getting very weird nightmares related to weed, not even to smoking it just very weird nightmares that all involve weed in some capacity. Luckily i’m not experiencing any sleeplessness (yet...).
So how long will these symptoms last? I didn’t think I’d go through any withdrawal because I haven’t been smoking for an excessive period of time.

It’s just weed it shouldn’t take too long, Iv smoked every day for years and occasionally Iv stopped just to see what kind of symptoms/withdrawals I had and I’d say I was just irritable more than anything. Really not that bad at all but I’m sure it’s different for everyone. I can say life’s better with weed though

You ripping it all day every day (bowl every 2-4 hours)? You'll be fine, OP. It will subside. I'm a heavy user (bong every 4 hours) and my withdrawal symptoms are strangely not as bad as they wee when I'd smoke like, 1/2 that amount.

The withdrawal effects are real despite common belief.
Although usually pretty minor and will usually just effect things like mood, short term memory, Sleep... temporarily.
Usually good cardio workouts everyday can help re balance your hormones and endo-cannabanoid system.
Get in the GYM for a nice jog or go to a hotel pool to get out of breath. It will do wonders for your current state.
Try to get heart rate in your optimal fat burning zone, 130bpm for most people.
A medium sauna session is helpful too. Although make sure never to push yourself too far in the heat. Hydration Hydration.........

I second exercise. I take for granted how active I am. That's a HUGE reason for mental clarity for me in general. Lift weights if you're able.

I was only smoking a few hours per day.
I already lift but there’s no way I’m doing cardio because my cardio sucks and it just makes me sick... I’m honestly fine most of the time but I get these like spells for 15 mins where I feel irritable for no reason and I have to stop myself from getting angry at people, it’s really annoying.

I've always looked at the irritability part as an "exercise" in itself. If I can remain calm when high, there's no reason I can't temporarily when I'm not. Cannabis is a teacher!

A smoke after cardio is fucking nice though lol. Get stoned much easier. I still hammer the stuff even though I go to gym. I find they go hand in hand. You really look forward to the smoke when you get back home. I smoke about 2-3g of bud a day.

I agree with post-workout tokes. Shit is another level. I assume you either grow your own or have access to below street price (or medical lol). Almost a zip a week? I was at about a half a week at one point at my heaviest usage and I was sweating constantly at like 2g a day lol. Bodyweight absolutely has an influence after a certain amount per day. 1g is the sweet spot for me.

Yeah there real just very minor if you’ve ever been addicted to real drugs. Weed withdrawal is a walk in the park.

Is there a such thing as physical cravings rather than psychological, when addicted to other drugs? Or is the craving just to get rid of the bad withdrawal (which can be physical). I don’t really have any way to imagine that, other than say comparing it to hunger.
My “cravings” are just my brain imagining smoking weed and wanting it. I smelled weed somewhere and I got a big strike of that feeling.
What’s a craving like on a real drug?

Well the affects only last 48hrs then your like a virgin smoker again. First day can't eat much due to gheralin production issues. Then there's the can't sleep thing, never seems to affect me, I work too hard. Id do like shaman said and lift weights. This will stimulate the over stimulated hormones you'll be lacking. Dude I've been high going on like 10years, talk about mental clarity.

I smoked like 2 to 3 grams every day for more than a decade, then quit about two years ago. Now I smoke like once or twice a month. Lack of sleep, sweaty nights, crazy dreams.. all those symptoms fade after a couple of days. Usually a week up to ten days is enough to feel pretty normal again, after heavy use.
You smoked a couple of weeks? You'll be fine in two more days or so.

I will be in the same boat soon. I've gone cold turkey and it can be a bit unpleasant. My plan is to wean off the heavy ganj by using CBD herbs and reducing the ratio until I am mostly just vaping CBD, then nothing. Kava helps too.

Second this. However, being a weird one myself, I found it easier to stop alprazolam after a few months of constant abuse (admittedly after accidentally going cold turkey so withdrawal was HELL) than quitting smoking the green. Took me yeeears to manage to stop smoking.
Withdrawals tho, yeah weed was just slightly disturbed sleep for a week or two

Weed withdrawal should inspire those experiencing it to never go after harder drugs lol.

The withdrawl effects from cannabis are mostly psychological. The duration of the symptoms seems to primarily revolve around how good you are at handling your emotions in general. The first time i quite smoking after an extended period of daily use it took a few weeks for me to stop feeling like I wanted it. I was in a bad state emotionally in general at the time though. I've since become much better at handling my emotions and now I generally feel fine after just a few nights of good sleep. Also just doing a bunch of cardio for the first couple days helps and the better shape your in generally the easier and quicker it is. You release all those endorphins and things when you run and that makes you feel just dandy.

If i stop smoking I find it difficult to sleep properly for like 3 or 4 days and might get some weird dreams. The first 1-2 days is always the hardest cause even though you haven't smoked for a while you're still like 5% stoned
Marijuana withdrawal is more of a psychological discomfort however I know some people said they felt like shit when quitting and actually got some physical symptoms
Taking a break from the herb feels quite good overall, it makes sleep/awake periods actually feel like sleep/awake and not sleep/half sleep.
I also seem to enjoy reading a lot more after a few days of not smoking.
