Two Species displayed here which may or may not be the same, so I will keep them sepated in this ID request. They both seemed very, very similar, but Species #2 was 2-3 x larger than Species #1, and while they both blued upon picking, Species #2 stained a much deeper blue and began deteriorating rapidly. Date found both species: December 22st, 45 degrees F, after several days of hard rain and 40-50 degree temps. Thanks so much for your help! I did the best I could with the spore print, and I know Species #2 is very paint and is a sub-par pic, but I did the best I could. Apologies and thanks again!
Species #1:
Habitat: Coastal grass - dune grass in an area of matted down grass about 300 feet from the ocean
Gills: closely spaced, bluing upon picking
Stem: Hollow, dirty white then staining light blue after picking, especially towards the bottom
Cap: light golden brown color before picking, gilled, with very pointed umbo, slight stritations, then strongly bluing at the edges and on the gills after picking.
Spore print color: Very difficult to obtain, tiny black dots appeared after 10 hours of drying, but very faint
Bruising: Deep bluing of the gills and gill margins around the bottom edge, bluing of the stem but lighter than the gills

Species #2
Species #2: Date found, December 22st, 45 degrees F, after several days of hard rain and 40-50 degree temps Habitat: Coastal grass - dune grass in an area of matted down grass about 300 feet from the ocean
Gills: closely spaced, more deeply pronounced than Species #1, but Species #2 was also proportially about 2-3 x tbigger than Species #1. Very, very deeply bluing almost immediately after picking
Stem: Hollow, slightly more pronounced logitudinal striations (up and down) than Species #1. Stem was straw/golden color, nearly translucent at picking, then staining deep blue after picking.
Cap: Brownish cream colored before picking, very faint striations, with pointed umbo, slight stritations, mellow golden brown color at picking, then strongly bluing at the edges and on the gills after picking.
Spore print color: difficult to obtain, but dark purple/black from what could be obtained
Bruising: Very, very Deep bluing of the gills (much more than Species #1) and gill margins around the edge, bluing of the stem but lighter than the gills. The entire cap began bluing upon picking, most especially around the bottom edge. The entire mushroom immediately began deteriorating/falling apart as it began bluing, which occurred almost immediately after picking.
Location: Oregon Coast, very near Warrenton/Astoria. Found in same general location as Species #1

It’s hard to say with the pics and their condition. In my opinion they could be Psathyrella, Panaeolus, or possibly Inocybe sp. The stipe seems typical of Psathyrella. Either way, without being certain of what it is, I’d treat them as not worthwhile.

The first one reminds me of allenii, but the stem doesn't really match. If it is allenii, one specimen is not much for anything. 1 or 2 micro doses worth maybe.
The second one, well, maybe it's just the lighting, but I don't see that deep blue color you're referring to. And like you said, it's deteriorating bad.
Next time you catch 'em, try to take pictures in natural light and also take in-situ pictures as well.

Thanks to both of you for your help, and for weighing in! It was a rather challenging situation, being on government land, the rain, and trying to take spore prints in the car on a 4 hour trip back from the coast, but maybe I learned what my limits are. Thanks again.

Species 1 is probably Psilocybe azurescens. 2 might also be a psilocybe but it's too hard to tell with the specimen provided. Could be an old hygrocybe as well.

I gotta eat my words on my earlier statement. I agree with the others. Psilocybe for sure. Not sure what species though. They look like they got trampled a bit and that’s why the stems look not so robust, but I was totally wrong initially. My bad for not looking closer or longer.

I again just want to express my sincere thanks to all of you who weighed in on my finds. All of your responses were extremely prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. I feel like Luke when Obi Wan says, "You've just taken your first steps into a wider world." I'm so glad I began this trip down the mycological rabbit hole, and so grateful to be a part of this forum however minuscule. I only wish I had someone with greater experience with me and my girlfriend when we took to the field. You read all you can, you study the habitat, the terminology, the morphology and every picture google finds...and at the end of the day you still aren't sure. There is just no substitute or better way to learn than first-hand, from one who knows more than you do. Thanks.
