Supposedly Mexicana, not Mexicana looking

Hi guys, been lurking this incredible place for a while now. Glad and grateful that places like this exist.
I'm on my first grow, it's a kit and I'd say it is fruiting decently also given my low expectations on kits (really don't think I'll find the time to make a PF tek in this period of my life tho).
I have a doubt: the little guys are supposed to be P. Mexicana (teonanacatl) but they really don't look like Mexicana to me. What do you guys think these might be? (they look a little like PE to me, but as I said, no expert here by any means). Also: do they look ok anyway? I had first pin on monday 16th and the pics are from today (dec 22). Thanks!

That sure looks like a cube and not P. mexicana.
That's got to be frustrating, but at least you still have an active species.
P. S. I am curious about your substrate/casing. It looks good! What did you use?

P. Mexicana (teonanacatl) is a cubensis variety and those names are marketing tools, cubensis is cubensis.

These are, as already stated, Psilocybe cubensis, and healthy looking ones too.
Psilocybe mexicana is a species of its own. I reckon you are referring to the marketed "strain" named "Mexican" - which possibly originated from Mexico, but should by no means be confused with the petite pasture loving "pajarito" cherished by the Mazatecs.

Oh, this makes a lot of sense, ty. (But, got to say, they don't really look like cubes mex either, or do they? The vendor just responded me that yes, they look quite dissimilar from cubensis mex and that probably I simply got a slight mutation of those).
So they look healthy to you? Good to know! They are accelerating now. In 24 hours they changed quite a bit, as you can see from the updated pics.
Thanks to everybody who responded!
