For those of you who saw it, what do you think?
I liked it, but of course I would have modified a few things.
Thoughs?

I was worried, and should probably watch it again. But, first impression is all positive.
Better than the last 2 imo

My daughter said that it was the first movie she has seen that exhausted every emotion.
I’ll agree it is a roller coaster

It killed the franchise. SW won't likely recover now.

It just all seems so fake. I don't feel like a could trust a single scene from that movie with the amount of money that was put into it.
Or maybe thats just because I was stoned as fuck.
I just don't like the way star wars is going, too much power into one movie. Everyone in the world knows about star wars.
For some reason the new star wars kinda feels like one of those lord of the rings movies, exact same kind of sequences and especially the contrast/clarity between good and bad. I'm starting to think that george lucas just ripped of lord of the rings and turned it into a sci-fi. Because it's the exact same with all the lore and shit like that some people get really into.
The main difference that star wars has with lord of the rings is something that star wars claims that everyone has light in themselves. And no matter how easily one is tempted to the dark side, you can always go back to being a jedi if you feel like it. Movie was very predictable I could tell exactly what was going to happen.
I dunno man, cgi is too real nowadays, I feel like half the actors aren't even acting anymore, like literally carrie fisher was literally all just cgi. Shit doesn't feel right.

That wasn't a CGI Leia in Rise of Skywalker. They had filmed some of her scenes before she died, and used old unused footage of her from Force Awakens.

Long movie and in Utah it is like gospel. 48 percent on rotten tomatoes but 85 percent liked it. Will see it in time. On a redbox.

Watched the last few; i just don't vibe with the actors, their ability to act, or the storyline they have been developing these last three or so movies. The effects and everything are awesome, they've perfected that, i just think the acting and story are garbage. I'd be interested to see what Tarantino could do with Star Wars instead of Disney. lol

i honestly don't understand why people keep pouring money into this series
the first three movies were awesome growing up. watching them as an adult, they're pretty crappy. even the acting is fairly canned much of the time, hardly believable.
the next three were horrendous. i tried to watch Force Awakens multiple times and either fell asleep or lost interest and changed it.
i will not watch this newest one, or the one or two before it. shit needs to die.

This is probably going to go against the mainstream thought, but I felt Episodes I-III were masterpieces. The music, the acting, the story, that shit is brilliant imo.
I grew up to them though, so I'm no doubt biased in the matter.

I agree. I think Episodes I-III get unnecessary criticism. They are definitely better than Episodes VII-IX.

Right? The music alone kills it. All the memes that spawned out of that trilogy alone speaks for it's success imo. I wish these new star wars were good, but it just seemed to me like the pinnacle of SJW media hijacking.

Yeah man I feel like the movie industry has really gone down hill. Its all either sequels or remakes. There aren't any original movies anymore.
But once you realize that Jar Jar Binks is a Jedi those episodes are the greatest.

I feel like a lot of media, especially popular media has been simultaneously coerced and hijacked by SJW-types and have left behind the top priority of a project being to make a really good product and instead replaced it with appeasing SJWs. It's a similar type of thing we've seen happen to youtube over the past years in a desperate attempt to appease advertisers.

Yeah I feel like most movies are great because they went against the grain. They took a risk. It's a shame...

Yeah. I mean I think there are still some movies being produced that are good, but the popular movies are almost all compromised. That said give it some years and things will swing back around. Hopefully. lol
If not, there are so many thousands upon thousands of movies to be watched that are no doubt good that many of us haven't watched.
