I would paint personally. 1-2-3 primer(mold resistant) and the glossiest white or off white you can find. Not totally necessary but fresh paint feels nice and glossy is easier to wipe down. Even just the primer would be better than nothing.
But as filthy said the mushrooms dont care in fruiting. Lab should definitely have a fresh coat.
Its more for your sake than for them. But white doesnt hide dirt or molld And reflects light all good things imo.

Same. As an environment for tubs it doesn't need it but as a general environment you will be occupying, painting while itβs empty and easy to do will probably be more enjoyable for you in the long run.

I'm looking at doing the same thing, though my basement isn't very nice, exposed cement brick, rough cement floor. I'm not sure how finished the basement you're moving in to is but if it's not finished drywall you should absolutely paint. Mine stays between 50-60 year round though so I'd like to be able to set up a fruiting room for cool temp shrooms in what was once a workshop.
I'll be using a high gloss white so that it will be easier to clean, keep clean, and spot dirt/whatever. The joists are exposed above so I will likely be using plastic sheeting to make a lid, mostly just to keep dust from getting knocked down in to the room, and epoxy painting the floor. Pest control is my #1 concern. I want the floor smooth and clean so that I can apply barrier treatments that will remain effective for bugs. I'll probably put the legs of the marthas on top of sticky sheets or something? not sure yet. mouse traps all around. As much as I hate to use it, I may put expanding foam in some of the crevices between the foundation and the floor above where it connects to the crawlspace and there are gaps that bugs and such could come through, and help keep the room's air exchange under more control. Not sure if you have the same concern about pests/unfinished walls where you're at or not but these are some of the things I'd scope out once you get working on it.

I know, I know, milli-inches. The first time I heard an engineer say that I thought it was the stupidest thing ever.

I've seen paints at the home center marketed specifically as moisture barriers for cinder block and concrete basement walls. Might be something to look into.
