Cleaning tubs after a run is done... can you steam/steammop it or only bleach?

So I just ended up getting a steam mop to clean the house floors with and thought, if it can clean and disinfect a floor why cant it work on the tubs? Is there a certain amount of time the steam needs to be held in one spot to steralize it? Or is a better option just to do a bleach/water mixture? And if so whats a proper ratio, 1 part bleach to 10 parts water?

Bleach ratios can be found on google. 1 cup bleach to 1 gallon water I dont see why this wouldnt suffice. If you rinse out your tubs and clean them with bleach you really shouldn't have issues. I have never done it but steam cleaning sounds like more work than its worth. If you had a steam room that reached a high enough temp and had a lot to do I could see it as a practical method

Just clean it with warm soapy water, that’s what I always do.

So warm soapy water is enough to kill whatever is left over as opposed to bleach water? The steam mop is detachable so I can use it as a steam hand held device too... which is why I thought it might be easy to steam and wipe.

I do a soak-down (after removing the sub) with my bleach spray bottle (1:10), then wipe down with paper towel. Then I just wash them in the big sink with antibacterial soap and water. Before I reuse I spray with 70% ISO and wipe with paper towel (which is probably way overkill). The first two steps would be mroe than adequate, and I sometimes get lazy and just do soap and water with my shoeboxes becasue I can get every nook and cranny more easilly than a big tub.

Cause these tubs had trich and some nasty white looking mold... Just wanted to give my next run a chance to have a clean run cause all my tubs last run I ended up packing down tightly (live and learn lol).
I sprayed down the micropore tape with water too since there was debri on it... most of it is gone now except trace amounts. Can you continue to reuse the MP tape? Or is it a once and done deal? Next tubs Im setting up will be the new Pasty EZ dialed in tubs so I wont need to worry about MP tape anymore.

A gram of dust contains 1-2 billion bacteria. Let alone spores from fungi. The air we breathe contains around 10k or more contaminants per cubic meter.
A surface sanitized in open air stays sanitized zero long

So is there going to be an explanation why you shouldn't waste your time cleaning? Does this not decrease the likelihood of contamination by any measurable change?

No it changes nothing ...fruiting is not even close to sterile or even sanitary

Why you trying to kill anything? It's gonna have contaminates regardless
Your saying if you had a tub of trich, bleaching that tub would still be unnecessary?
Or in my case a tub that is littered with pseudomonas?
Why wouldn't you want to minimize the amount of contaminates in a tub?
So are you suggesting that a tub was just sanitized with bleach has the same probability of having a trich overgrowth problem as a tub that is littered with trich spores?
Doesn't seen reasonable

If someone could please explain a why statement into better detail, thatd be great. It is what it is isn't very solid reasoning to guide others with just sayin Although the myc is stronger at tub stage it doesnt make it immune to contams. I'm not saying you're wrong give me a legitimate explanation with proof please.

Contamination is on the plastic your tub is made from even if you sanitize it within seconds the air touches it and makes it not sanitary. Simply cleaning with soap and water will remove just as much of the prior contamination as bleach would. But it's cheaper and way easier than dealing with bleach... fumes etc...
Do any of you bleach your dishes and silverware? No

I use soap and water and a shower head to quickly rinse. Nothing too complicated. The pressure from the shower head gets the funk off.

Dude, sterility BEFORE colonised mycelium not after. I just said this to someone else lol. Once you are fruiting (using tub) you are in open air. All efforts at making shit perfect is futile so no / very little effort will have the same result as OCD levels of effort. Just wash the shit with water. People grow pounds contam free this way, there's no reason to think they are fucking up or don't know better.

Is it recommended to use a new piece of micropore tape for every run or can you reuse them till they fall apart?
