Awesome thread man! Question for you, so I am using a set-up very similar to the one you are describing in this thread. I am using pasty's micropore tek with coco/verm. This is my first monotub. I added colonized rye berries to my substrate 13 days ago and still no pins. I'm starting to think my conditions aren't dialed in. Maybe too dry/too wet?
I didn't tape holes with duct tape from the start. I used micropore take since putting spawn in the tub. I do have condensation on the sides of the tub and do have small water beads on the top of substrate. The beads aren't as big as the ones in your pics though.
Thus far I have been monitoring, but have just let it do it's thing in 12/12 ambient room light. I have no fan in room as humidity is about 30% this time of year. I have not misted to this point.
The substrate is white and fluffy, smells "mushroomy" with no signs of coloring. I am attaching pics for reference. *Note: there is a blue hue that comes across in the corner of a few pics. This is glare and reflection and not actually blue in person.
Any thoughts why no pins yet? Suggestions as to what I should do/change?

Sounds like you have it figured out so far Just keep waiting let it do its thing. Everything looks good as far as I can tell.

I appreciate the help man. So you don't think I should adjust (add/remove) micropore layers or mist at this point? Just keep letting it do it's thing?

Just to clarity: You don't think 13 days from adding in colonized rye to the monotub is too long for no pin formation?

Nope. All depends on how long it takes for your sub to reach full colonization really. So there are a few factors. Field capacity. Spawn/bulk ratio. Genetics. Etc. You're well within range

Pins can take up to 4 weeks with some cultures/varieties: 12-18 days is typical for a good clone-MS for classic cube varieties ime... is a stellar write up fo sho!

Here is the surface conditions for a tex orange cap tub on day 11. Hopefully the picture is clear enough to see. This was top layered at spawn. Nothing has been done to the tub yet. Lid is still on and filters are in tight.

5 quarts spawn to 1 brick eco earth, 3 quarts verm, 4.5 quarts water. Iād have to do the math on spawn ratio.

That's pretty much a 1:2 ratio. Damien 5050s tek makes about 8qts of substrate, plus your extra quart of verm. Allegedly the wider the ratio between spawn and sub the faster it fruits because it doesn't have as much nutrition to chew on
