I recently moved to the Vancouver WA/Portland Oregon area and I was wondering if there were any areas nearby that were good for hunting as well as what species there are and the best time of year to go hunting. there anyone that can help?

Searching for the species you are interested in on MushroomObserver.org and iNaturalist.org will answer both of those questions, and show you the types of habitats they like. Many areas have a lot of actives but not many people so they don't show up on the map - it is always fun to add new points on the map.
iNaturalist is a really fun app to use to take photos of all of the life forms you encounter. As a bonus, at the end of the year they give you a cool summary of everything you have seen and helped identify. Today they sent me my summary for the year: https://www.inaturalist.org/stats/2019/alan_rockefeller
