social reinforcement of addiction and relationships

So this is a mixture of a health issue and relationships not sure if it belongs here but here goes:

So I'm going out with a women now for 1 year, I love her dearly and want the best for both of us.

Here's the scenario: we go to her friends place and stay there for a few nights out of her friends hospitality. She offers me eggnog with rum in it and knows I don't drink. I say what the hell and partake as it's rude not to right? My partner drank a fair amount before she met me, at least a couple of standard drinks most nights with weekends drinking 6-7 standards on Friday and Saturday.

The friend whose house we were staying at then offers alcohol to my partner on the Friday night. She says no but keeps insisting. Would you like an eggnog (with rum, strong) she replies no) so she offers her another drink, partner replies no, she says she doesn't want anything strong, so she looks at her and says what about a mulled wime? With an almost peer pressure intent. My partner replies yes. I see the friend pick up a bottle of vodka, my partner is unaware of this and I see her friend start preparing a mulled wind with a quarter bottle of vodka in it too. My partner has a history of alcohol abuse which I'm trying help woth.

What do you make of this shroomery. Am I overthinking this or? She was basically pressured into a drink and the person made it much stronger without informing my partner. I've seen peer pressure before and it seemed like it and I don't know it just seems a little dodgey to keep offering me who doesn't drink more drinks and my partner who she knows is trying to reduce intake drinks and then making them far stronger.

Am I overanalyzing or is this what I see it to be. Peer pressure and social reinforcement of addiction? If my partner doesn't drink then the friend will certainly question her habit.

Love you all,
Love and light and of course :mushroom2:

You are right. The friend should know when to back off and this is probably a good thing to talk about between the two of you if you're really both working together toward a more sober future.
