The one I made uses an old reptile heating bulb and an incandescent bulb to supplement on large loads. Mostly, that was made based on what I had. Only thing I had to buy was the dowel rods. But on the practical side, those types of heat emitters are meant to run uninterrupted for longer periods of time so I feel a little safer than using a heat could of some kind.

Yeah I've been through wbs. My wife hates the smell, the little kids whine about it, I have grown to like it I think. So then I used oats. It was a trick or two to get it down good and hydrated and dry. I figured it out so i love oats too. Then I wanted to try wheat. Still haven't. Local feed store had winter rye. I used it. I like it a lot. I use it, I use oats and wbs. I have all 3 and go through each type each time I prep grain. Or whatever I'm feeling will be easiest. I like harvesting from wbs because the fruit twist off easy. It's more packed tight, the substrate. I can't twist and pull oats. Chunks of sub comes out.

ya i forgot how bad the smell was until i ran a batch lol. see when i started thats all i used, and everyone else were using oats, so when i got back into it this year i grabbed a bag of oats. my first try was way too wet second round was great which are pictured, then oats wasnt cool anymore any i decided to try wheat, i love it its easy and doesnt really stink up the house, slightly but not near as bad as oats or wbs. im not going back, although if wbs didnt make me wanna puke i would probably just use it but for now im on this wheat kick.
p.s i threw ur W.Tailfeathers to agar just an hr ago

I started with rye and loved it but then I couldn't find any locally so I switched to oats and the prep has been killing me... I feel like I throw away almost half of the oats just cleaning floaters out while I rinse... I can get them prepped just fine but I feel like they're not cost effective...

Now the fuzzy base of these pins is an indication of not enough FAE, correct?
I've just started opening the lid much more and fanning. So maybe the fuzzy will decrease, am I right, am I right?
The moisture is less now, so I lightly misted this am. PESA

Sometimes they just grow fuzz like that. They look healthy so there should be plenty of air.

Full update coming shortly, but look at these suckers. This cluster has lifted up the sub about an inch out of the bottom. Will definitely be cloning some of these. Side pinning is entirely my fault and I know why so while it's not good, I'm not too concerned about it as it is preventable in the future. Harvest will be tricky, but plentiful.
No more than 2 days from harvest for these PF Classics, 4 or 5 days for the Z box, and maybe 7 days out for PR and CR. APE is separated and in a race against the green. Pins have started but I don't know if it's gonna make it.

Are you guys talking about wheat bran as your grain?
Been interested in changing it up, I'll have to look into prep for that.

Hey fellow Mushie Men & Woman.
I'm all new, to the forum @ mushroom cultivation. Wanted to know how to get spores if I need to cultivate mushrooms in an open environment. Can any one send across to Hyderabad, India?

Ok, gonna try for the full update now.
March 9th, 2020
Feeling a little relieved as the pins start to fill in. APE has been separated and I don't hold out much hope but I'll let it play out and see what happens. Z looks set to be best performer for volume with PFC maintaining to fastest title. Both look to have some nice girth to them as well. PR and CR are coming along but a little behind(or maybe on par actually and others are quick). Fruits seem a little skinnier but not so much as to cause concern. Looks like a decent pin set is forming but again, my attempt at increased FAE totally biting me on the ass here. Still, not upset by these too much. Probably I worst work of a "bulk" grow because of circumstance and still showing lots of promise.

I never rinse or take out floaters. I just throw them straight into the pot and add water then boil. There are a lot of floaters in the beginning, but they all hydrate and sink to the bottom by the end of the cook. Then I just strain overnight and they are good to load in the morning.

I've started another 63 quart bottles of PE. I think I keep that pace and do something like 28 bottles (two tubs full) per day until I run out of PP5 containers (I have 400 right now). I need 432 to fully populate all my 32 tubs. I think I'm getting another 200 PP5s, that way I should be able to have a rotation going. Time in fruiting conditions is like 4-6 weeks and colonization takes about a week.

Stop rinsing your oats and problem solved.

Hey guys I'm PC some bags right now. How do you do the 30 min cooldown? Like go from (settings on stove burner ) 7 medium-high to 5 for ten min then to 3 for ten min then 1 for ten then turn it off?
