Inthepit, that is gorgeous!
APE started putting up some pins this morning. Not many, but it's something. Still keeping is out of the cabinet to be safe.

My PESA and TOC T3s are looking weak. The T1 plates are looking good though, tons of knots and a few pins in each. I might be better off either dropping the agar pins to grain, or growing out a clone on agar. All my jars are currently full so it'll be a few weeks before I can do that though.
So I'm still sticking more or less to the orginal varieties, PE, TOC and PESA. But I've also had some fantastic trades recently so I've started:
- PE6 - Mexican Dutch King - ATL - Rustywhyte
(Thank you to the Shroomers who traded!)
Now I'm wondering how many of my friends I can talk into growing so I don't become overwhelmed with tubs, but I do enjoy making grain jars.

Hey guys, have you seen an umbrella mushroom? Looks like the cap started splitting and a little bit of fuzzy feet. The shoebox is getting plenty of FAE and is getting misted twice a day (misting above and letting it gently fall). My shrooms are not growing very big.

MARCH 7 2020 so i decided to start this project back up. What seemed slow and boring at first turned me off to continue to update plus real life shit was picking up and i had less time to document. Also i didnt know how i was going to pick back up when i intended to take pictures and document this whole grow, and i contemplated how the hell i was going to finish this up without striking all the above text. but it dawned on me... i still had a few of the original variety's going, only problem was i had no shots of the final plate i transferred from...
while the LGT RED plates took a major shit on me i still had the following variety's still going strong. ORANGE plates RUSTY WHITE BURMA MENACE TAI LIPA YA the only bitch is they are all on grain.. u will have to just take my word for it that the plates i took wedges from appeared clean (sorry no photos)
so from no on i will not be referring to plate colors, it was just a way to show that i started different variety's at different times in JANUARY and seemed like an easy way to color code the grow so to speak.
i will show pictures of my grain jars in the next update to this log.
I THINK I CAN STILL SALVAGE THIS LOG

A little overdue update for the OP... Vimeo disabled my account for copyright BS, so I had to edit all my video with tempo changes in the music. Guess I could just not do music... but fuck that (absence of) noise.
3 • 5 • 20• T1 Day 12 • • T1 → T2 •• Agar → Grain •• Liquid Culture • Eventful day for this culture. Might be diving in a little too deep for a first transfer but... That's why I took T2's.

Thanks lads!
Yeah... I gotta sure up some of that hang time. Keep it elevated above everything else, but it is just sitting there exposed... We'll see if it passes the test.

I know i wont know about a contamination until I test it on some jars, but I wanted to see if everything is normal so far. First time doing LC. I boiled distilled water and used 1 tsp honey/maple syrup every 200ml water. Inoculated with 2cc spores TWO jars about a week ago. The LC is very clear with no sediment or junk floating around. After a couple days or so small little cloudy balls began forming from the spores. These little balls are now clumping together. Both jars look similar as picture below with one growing faster than the other.

So it's pinning time and the tubs are sooo wet. Next round I'll still be dialing back the water. But will I still need to mist the little babies? And, OMG, will they start aborting on me?
Also I wrapped the SBs in mosquito net to keep the gnats out. edit: yes PESA from Filthyknees! ftw! thanks for youz guyz help!

Doesn’t look too wet man, that’s a nice pinset coming in. It’s pesa? I have to live vicariously through you guys for another week.
I’ve got pe6 z melmak and pesa all starting to knot or finishing colonizing, all new ones for me.
It’s awesome having all the work from two months ago paying off but I’m starting to worry about blowing out my dehydrator. It’s been on at least 12 hours a day for a while now lol.

Yeah, I'm worried about burning down my house... my little nesco that I got 10 years ago has been running 24/7 a while now. Small capacity means I have to store shit in the fridge... then I have a backlog of shit for it to dry... then when it gets a chance to finally rest, Boom! Another harvest.
Think I'm gonna get one of these fellers soon

Cabelas has dope big dehydrators. Kind of expensive but I’ve heard they are awesome https://www.cabelas.com/category/Food-Dehydrators/104294880.uts
Or you could make one for half the price.

Good looks. I haven't actually looked into the DIY ones yet... kinda ashamed at myself for not. Just found this and it's pretty stupid easy. Thanks for steering me right.

I'm not saying mine is "good" but it is effective and has been running 24\7 for many weeks now. I'll edit with link but it's just a box with a heat source and a fan.
Another DIY dehydrator Supplies: Box Foil Fan Heat source Corrugated plastic (yard signs) Screen (mesh) Screws Dowel rods Hot glue
I have 4 20"x20" shelves but made slots for 6 and room to add more. Never needed to add more.....yet
