I made a slack but small update, everything happens at once when you’ve got to get shit done. Trying to beat the rain when you’ve gotta do work with an excavator kinda takes priority. But here it is with some pictures of the few I’m growing out further and some side isolation projects. I took some T1s to grain to see how they do, tightening up on lids and grain prep. Nice flush trubblesome! that was fast as hell. Only thing I've ever grown that fast is mold
my jars are moving slowly but surely. so far the Natalensis is the furthest along;

I shook the pint jars, but not the quarts yet. Also took some T2's and T3's;

Tossed a lot of the T1 and T2 plates that I didn't like the look of. Starting to narrow down my options a bit.
Finally got some promising Hillbilly plates, will be throwing those to grain within the next few days;

1/28/2020 Here is the current state of my T3's. The cubes look great. I would take steps to take them to grain, but I am waiting for another project to finish up (my first grow ever) so might as well take them through a couple more transfers.
Golden Halo:

Malaysian:

Here is the gym plate. The one side is from the whiter myc near the wedge of the previous transfer. The other side is from what 90% of the growth on the donor plate looks like... beneath the agar surface, or somethin. I definitely have a better feeling about the whiter, fluffier side, but I really don't know.

True Albino Teachers went to LC along with some zapotecorum (not a part of LAGM).
Just logged it in my journal for the grow and realized it could be the most boring grow log ever logged

On my third transfer now (Mexicana). Plates look decent, a couple looked quite fluffy for my liking so i made some biopsy pokes to agar in addition to the pf pucks I made a few days ago.
 Not the proper size of needle but it's been working great lately.

1. It's just corkboard - I'm probably getting a house this year, so I've decided to put off building a hood for now. I keep them on a shelf in a common room. So long as they're wrapped, they're pretty impervious to compromise. 2. Family tree wasn't meant to be taken literally as a genealogical lineage. I dunno what you would call a series of tissue transfers... vegetatively reproduced genotypical something something? Anyway, I was just depicting the series in its sequential order.

My pesa has been like that too. Very thick and fuzzy. And it almost looks like somebody’s taking invisible wedges out, there’ll be a bunch of empty cone shaped areas around the edges. I’m assuming it’s just how sectoring looks with such thick myc.

Way Dude! Here's mine, located where I feel like checkin it every hour, and thanks for answering my question! Plate 4.2 I have hopes for some pinning action someday!

UPDATE - 1/29/2020 Normally I'd take another transfer of this Natalensis but I'm feeling lazy and experimental-ish.
 I prepped a little too much spawn yesterday so instead of tossing the grain or PC'ing the extra qt or two I'm trying 1/2 pint masters.
 Aren't they adorable?
 Instead of transferring clean growth to a new plate just to grow it out I'm transferring to a 1/2 pint master. If all looks good I'll expand to quarts. I have 6-8 other cultures that have just been sitting in my fridge so I'll master jar a few of those as well.

So of the four B+ soft agar plates I dropped to wheat pints ten days ago, 3 are done and 1 is almost there:
My plan is to spawn them all to a single shoebox, and I'm debating whether to wait a couple days for the last jar to finish. It's like 95% colonized, but there's still a bunch on the top uncolonized:

I don't think it's contaminated, just slow, but sharing in case others see something I don't. These were inoculated with full 60mm soft agar T1 plates, which looked clean but not well organized before inoculation:
In hindsight, I should've labeled the plates and jars to be able to match them up, but didn't think about that at the time. My goal was to have keep a mix of genetics in the grow so I could get clones, and as such I wasn't concerned about any individual plates yet.
And that's also why I'm not just throwing out the last jar because it's a little slower. If there's reason to think the last jar is not clean and could screw up the rest, I'll toss it, but if it's just slow I'd like to give it a chance. I don't want to select those genes out just yet, especially since my guess is that speed differences are mostly due to differences in soft agar dispersion. (Two of the jars had plates melt like butter, and those colonized in under a week, but the other two were chunkier and those haven't been as fast.)
So what do you all think? Should I spawn the three finished pints now, or wait a couple days for the last to catch up?

I've had the same trouble as y'all with PESA. Glad to hear it's not just me. I started my very first plate 12/5 and it took several transfers to get uniform rhizo growth. That culture finally got G2G expanded to six jars just last week. My LAGM shoebox started nearly a month later and beat it by a long shot!
This time around I'm having the same trouble, but found this kind of weird hack. My LC test plate for the speed run had a spot of nice looking rhizo growth on it so I pulled a piece of that. Here it is compared to the traditional transfer:
rhizo (and somehow this is actually fuzzier than the plate I transferred from that got mold )
