Smooches... and an UPDAYE! After having to coax germination with some slight incubation, it took 9 days to see signs, transferred out on 1/10:

Every thread is going have a tendency to go into discussion. We're on a discussion board.
CBK has taken the time to link everyone's grow on the OP so that we can discuss freely and:

Updated My journal

The short version is that I got 4 (maybe 5?) plates with single spores on them, transferred from a streak I did on Sunday night from a freshly printed PESA. One of them had germinated on the streak plate so I knew I had to get in gear to keep them separated.

the germinated spore. looks like a sperm. it's on it's own plate now but I fucked up the lift of the wedge so it had to go face down on the new plate. hope that doesn't fuck it up.

I dunno man I think you're being a bit crazy about it. Makes total sense for people to ask for advice here when you are already here posting your grow log. Grow along doesn't mean strictly posting pictures of your grow and a strict grow log. This is about learning and growing together more than anything man. Learning will happen from discussion. It's a great way for everyone to learn new things. I dunno what you're on about lately but it is ridiculous, you constantly bickering

Also I'll bet you a wager CBK is completely cool with this discussion and likely supports it

Its all G ill still put it in my log, kinda knew the answer just was looking for a second opinion is all..
Different plates grow differently and just wanted feedback on making the right move to further this grow.
Was just thinking the uniform growth was better to transfer from rather than the puff balls i got on the other plates i transfered from

Let's continue this unnecessarily detailed single-post log that'll probably max out halfway through:

1 • 15 • 20

•  T2 Day 1  •

On we go. Took three from each as described above.
Got some bubbly ass agar. I must have shaken it and not let it settle enough. Note: Only be maybe one sheet to the wind when making agar.

In my opinion, even in the post your cultivation thread a lot of discussion that goes on is actually helpful stuff or good information that doesn't really have any negatives or downsides to being discussed. Sure completely off topic shit with no pictures for too many posts gets annoying, but it certainly doesn't happen often enough. I'm sure mods would do something if it was actually out of hand.

I'm not trying to be a dick caps, I just think sometimes you should just let some stuff be, even if you disagree, there's times where you're better off just not saying anything

I also didn't mean to derail this thread more to bicker about your bickering. So I decided to take a bunch of pictures I've been meaning to take. Really kinda been unmotivated and almost defeated with some contamination issues that have been ongoing for the last couple months. Has been getting into most of my cultures, I have no idea what it is, but it is certainly something fucked up that has been doing all sorts of weird shit that is probably worth documenting in itself in another thread.

However it does look like some T1 plates from my LAGM ecuador plates actually look decent. I am hoping to take some transfers from a couple of these in the next day or two. Also posted some germination plates. And some germ plates are newer (done on January 9th after I started panicking a bit thinking all my ecuador plates were fucked up).

The early transfers I took ended up being worthwhile, though part of me thought there was some bacteria riding along theres 2 T1 plates that look really good to me.

And trying to revive my PF classic pumpkin cap pheno from the dead...super dried out shroom that was on an old plate. Old master culture got infected with whatever has been fuckin my shit up...thing is, I think I see the same contamination growing from this old mushroom. Is it possible it was riding along in this culture the whole time? It was a pretty prolific fruiter. Very confusing. More investigation needs to be done also when I get some more freetime I will get out my actual microscope...been a while

edit:

To the more experienced growers you might be able to see the contamination I'm talking about - it is growing on the cap there. I will take more pictures.

Also I will clean this post up and date and title my progress better soon it's all recorded but I'm so busy with school gonna need a weekend to compile everything neatly.

Update 1/15

Preparing to take 1-2 transfers from each t1 plate, most will probably be ready for grain on the next plate.

The line up

Most excited about this one, havent seen any RW myc that looks like this before, and its exactly what the myc from the ksss clone the spores came from look like. Hoping thats a sign I got a cross, but  either way its got some nice clean lookin growth.

These Pes-A sure have some nice rhizo’ sectors, Looks similar to some of the aggressive colonizers I’ve grown before. I know where I’m transferring from with these fasho

The straight Ksss spores have only germed on 1-3 plates so far, and only three small spots of germ, kinda makes me wonder if any are monokaryons, and how many actually germinated on the mixed plates? But I’ve heard other mycelium can help spores to germinate, so I’m hoping thats the case on at least some of the RWSS plates. Should ne easy enough to tell once they fruit. Until then I might just be cleaning up RW myc.

I'm not bickering, I'm just stating opinion, correcting what I feel to be misinformation when I see it, and trying to maintain some order of conduct anyways... pic threads go pages without pix, discussion in threads that have NOTHING to do with mush cult (several threads peppered in for OTD too) crazy? Absolutely: ya got me!

My lagm grow

Finally took my first transfer today. Not much happening in the tamp plates. I prob need to find a new print. I've tried several times with it, maybe I'll switch up the nutes and start over.

The Golden Halo has rhizo growth but none of the myc is above the agar, it's running inside of the agar. So I took three transfers from the Golden Halo pitri with the fastest traveling growth.

I’m getting ready for some T1s later today, is there anything specific I should look for on the germ plates? Some spots have thicker growth while others seem to be spreading out more.

I was surprised how much they avoid each other I thought since they’re all the same kind they’d merge early on.

Any suggestions?

I’m kind of liking the bottom of the two squished together around 7.

I like the bottom edge of that guy at 9 o'clock and the spots around 8. Especially the guy that's getting closer to the 9 area

I notice it takes a few transfers sometimes or switching to grains before I see if the myc will be rhizo or not so I look for the fastest most uniform growth. That's just how I like to do it. I'd agree with the fingers^^ completely. I don't know what criteria others are looking for but I want the most ground coverage.
