I dont thibk so.  Oyster mushrooms dont have scaly caps like that

:whathesaid: maybe something like Crepidotus mollis.

Edit: you can always check the spore print, Spore print will be Brownish if Crepidotus and White if it is a Pleurotus species. That is an easy way to separate them if you are planning to eat what you find.

Thanks--I found some of what I thought were oyster mushrooms on some oak branches that fell in the storms. 

I'd assumed it was a local oyster variety but I'll check spores.

This is helpful--I put the cap on tin foil.

I picked up a few small sticks with them that won't last through the dry summer, and I was going to see if they would try using another substrate like pine (which is more common (as I know many oyster mushrooms are not picky.)

I was wondering if there were lookalikes for oysters and this thread was informative.  Thanks!
