Protein Shaker Wire Mixing Ball for Liquid Cultures?

I see a lot of people using marbles to stir their LCs. Has anybody used a protein shaker ball before? Any reason not to? I'm not ready to drop money on an electric stirrer yet.

That would work.

That's actually a damn good idea!
I used marbles and they're too heavy, you shake a but too hard and you break the jar, happened like 3 times to me
Now I just use glass chunks which haven't broke any jars yet.

The blender ball. I got one of those. I think it would work well for blenderless liquid inoculate. You could probably use it for liquid cultures. It will do fine. Also use a wedge and you could manually swirl it. Or even put a magnetic stir bar in the bottom. I built a pour contraption with a blender ball shake thing for liquid inoculation it works well.

I just shake the shit out of my bottles and that seems to break up the myc pretty well. Perhaps I will dig through the cabinet for a shaker ball next time.

why not let it grow into a giant clump, then dump out the excess broth before inoculation?
I might try this, 250 ml lc, grow it for 4 days then clump dump
