I know you get tired of hearing it, Smart,  but you are a fucking genius. I just completed my first spawn to sub in an unmodified tub. The field capacity was just like the videos show it should be. Couldn’t have been simpler.  Also used it to prep my oats and that was stupid simple too.

Thanks, dude.

I won't get tired of it. I do get tired of people posting how hard they think coir prep is though!

Don't you just love how field capacity literally CAN'T be wrong even if you tried? That's the essence of easy, when fucking up becomes the challenge.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I keep finding my coir holds much less water than all the guides and I needed to add vermiculite, then used less water and needed to add water. No thinking with this. Thank you!!!

I'm working on it. Keep getting molds on the top layer. I think. Both are two nutrious to use as bulk subs.

AA+ with oak mulch. This is before I cased with Jiffy just to seal it in.

Oak mulch? Interesting. I cased a few tubs recently with maple shavings. Worked good for pin formation but the chips got integrated into the stems. No bueno.

This is part of experiment covid 2020. Spawned in Oakmulch. Cased with jiffy, but the picture is pre casing

if you're fond of no-braining things oven pasteurization is awesome. cool little contraption you built though, and arguably equally as simple as using an oven once you have it built

I know you don't really need an exact amount of water for this tek to work but what would be a minimum amount of water to boil for 1 650g brick?

How many monotubs worth of coir can you prep with 1 bucket? Id guess about 2 monotubs or so?

Two is about right. More than that and it gets a bit tough to stir and break up into a nice loose/fluffy texture.
