Lately I’ve been listening to this guy’s videos and reading his stuff. I’m usually cynical about shit like this but it works for me and the psychological results are nearly instant. Plus you don’t have to buy anything if you don’t want to.
He’s known as the iceman and he basically teaches these breathing exercises that help you withstand cold waters. And it’s cool cause the effects come on quickly and they get you feeling numb and euphoric and put you in a sort of psychedelic mindset. I see a lot of interesting potential and I’ve just started doing his exercises. After the breathing, you are supposed to take an extremely cold shower and I’m enjoying trying to withstand the discomfort of it all. After I come out of the shower, I feel so focused, relaxed and euphoric for the whole day. And the breathing is awesome too- it feels like a 10 minute nitrous trip if I do it properly.
This guy does crazy shit like climbing snowy mountains in his underwear or swimming casually in freezing waters. Interesting ass dude for sure.

The breathing method is great, I do it before I have to do any sort of public speaking. It's the only (natural) thing I've tried that basically zaps away any stress/anxiety instantly, opens up the lungs and makes speaking easy too. Can get to some pretty trippy states with the technique as well.
I've used cold exposure for awhile, but am too lazy to do it consistently. It's interesting how different cold feels when it's something you're trying to escape, vs something you're trying to embrace. My walk to my car in the morning fully bundled up feels like a miserable eternity sometimes... but sitting on a balcony at like 5 degrees F in a bathing suit can feel pretty laid back if I prep for it with the right meditation and breathing. As you said it feels amazing afterwards as well

I've swam in some very cold pools. The old YMCA before they built the new pool had a lot of problems. Chlorine levels so high hair would burn off and suits would bleach. Heater breaking and the water getting into the 50s.
